A series of nitrile-functionalized imidazolium salts (many of which are liquid at room temperature) have been prepared. The reactivity of these salts with PdCl2 has been studied, resulting in salts containing a tetrachloropalladate dianion or co ...

Isomerization of a neutral bis-cyclometalated iridium(III) complex has been observed for the first time during the preparation of vacuum-processed organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs) and reproduced in solution. Isolation of the isomer revealed a cis org ...

The chemical reactivity of 1-alkynyltriazenes has been investigated and is found to parallel the reactivity of ynamides. The similarity in reactivity of these two classes of compounds is demonstrated by addition reactions with acids, by cycloaddition react ...

The synthesis, structure, and reactivity of small-molecule models of [Fe]-hydrogenase are described. These models feature the intriguing acylmethylpyridinyl ligands found exclusively in the enzyme. ...

Four novel polypyridine cobalt(II) complexes were developed based on a hexadentate ligand scaffold bearing either electron-withdrawing (-CF3) or electron-donating (-OCH3) groups in different positions of the ligand. Experiments and theoretical calculations ...

The redox chemistry of uranium is dominated by single electron transfer reactions while single metal four-electron transfers remain unknown in f-element chemistry. Here we show that the oxo bridged diuranium(iii) complex K(2.2.2-cryptand)[{((Me3Si)(2) ...

Chemically induced bond cleavage of nitrous oxide typically proceeds by rupture of the N–O bond with concomitant O-atom transfer and liberation of dinitrogen. On a few occasions, N–N bond scission has been observed instead. We report a reaction sequence in ...

Anthracene derivatives of ruthenium(II) arene compounds with 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphatricyclo[3.3.1.1]decane (pta) or a sugar phosphite ligand, viz., 3,5,6-bicyclophosphite1,2-O-isopropylidene-alpha-D-glucofuranoside, were prepared in order to evaluate their ...

Triple‐stranded helicates were obtained by metal‐templated multicomponent reactions of bispyridyloxime ligands with arylboronic acids. The helicates feature two hexa‐coordinated MII ions (M=Fe, Zn, or Mn), which are embedded in a macrobicyclic ligand frame ...

Reaction of RuCl3 with 1-[2-(1,4-cyclohexadiene-1-yl)alkyl]-3-methylimidazolium chloride (alkyl = Et, butyl) and 1-[2-(1,4-cyclohexadiene-1-yl)ethyl]-2,3-dimethylimidazolium chloride affords a series of dimeric ruthenium complexes of the type [RuCl2(η6-are ...

Donor–acceptor cyclopropanes substituted with 3,3-dialkyltriazenyl groups are described herein. The strong electron-donating character of the triazene renders the cyclopropanes highly reactive, allowing for catalyst-free ring-opening reactions with methano ...

A new procedure for the synthesis of highly substituted 1,3-diaminopyrazoles is described. As substrates, we have employed 1-alkynyltriazenes and imines. The formation of pyrazoles was achieved by two-fold C–N coupling reactions in the presence of (JohnPho ...

Thesynthesis of molecular uranium complexes in oxidation stateslower than +3 remains a challenge despite the interest for their multielectrontransfer reactivity and electronic structures. Herein, we report theone- and two-electron reduction of a U(III) com ...

Replacement of a dimethyl amino group of the amidobis(amine) nickel(II) pincer complex (1), [((N2N)-N-Me)-Ni-Cl], by a pyrrolidino group resulted in a new nickel(II) pincer complex (2), [((PNNN)-N-yr-N-Me)Ni-Cl]. Complex 2 is an efficient catalyst for Kuma ...

The dinuclear Ru(II) complexes (arene)Ru(μ-Cl)3RuCl(C2H4)(PCy3) (arene = p-cymene or 1,3,5-C6H3iPr3) react with N2O under mild conditions to give OPCy3 and the trinuclear complexes (arene)Ru(μ-Cl)3Ru(μ-Cl)3Ru(arene). The N-heterocyclic carbene complex (p-c ...

Mesoionic imidazolylidenes are recognized as excellent electron-donating ligands in organometallic and main group chemistry. However, these carbene ligands typically show poor π-accepting properties. We have performed a computational analysis of 71 mesoion ...

Formation of a vacant coordination site on a Ru center permits an unusual binding of small molecules such as ethylene, acetylene, and dihydrogen, resulting in the transformation of the chelating β-diketiminate ligand to a β-diimine. These represe ...

New ruthenium(II) arene derivatives (arene = p-cymene, benzene, hexamethylbenzene) containing beta-ketoamine ligands L' (HL' in general; in detail, HLph,ph = (4Z)-3-methyl-4-((phenylamino)(phenyl)methylene)-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-5(4H)-one, HLnaph,ph = (4Z)-3 ...

The synthesis of lanthanides other than cerium in the oxidation state +IV has remained a desirable but unmet target until recently, when two examples of Tb-IV with saturated coordination spheres were isolated. Here we report the third example of an isolate ...
