The synthetic utility of triazenes rests on the fact that the triazene function can be cleaved by BrOnsted or Lewis acids, liberating diazonium compounds. However, the preferred coordination site of the acid is still a matter of debate. We have analyzed tr ...

Reactions of the dinuclear ruthenium complex [(p-cymene)Ru(mu-Cl)3RuCl(C2H4)(PCy3)] with phenylacetylene or tert-butylacetylene gave the vinylidene complexes [(p-cymene)Ru(mu-Cl)3RuCl(=C=CHR)(PCy3)] (R = tBu, Ph), which were characterized crystallographica ...

Synthetic studies of bimetallic uranium nitride complexes with the N(SiMe3)(2) ligand have generated a new nitride complex of U(III), which is highly reactive toward C-H bonds and H-2. Treatment of the previously reported U(IV)/U(IV) nitride complex [Na(DM ...

We report here a new cationic bis-cyclometallated iridium(III) complex, 1, with deep-blue emission at 440 nm and its use in Light-emitting Electrochemical Cells (LECs). The design is based on the 2',6'-difluoro-2,3'-bipyridine skeleton as the cyclometallat ...

Direct coupling of alkyl halides with terminal alkynes provides an efficient and streamlined access to alkyl-substituted alkynes, which are important synthetic intermediates, biologically active molecules, and organic materials. However, until now, there ha ...

A versatile and experimentally facile procedure for the synthesis of borophosphonate cages of the general formula [tBuPO3BR′]4 is described. The method involves heating of tert-butylphosphonic acid with a boronic acid in toluene to give borophosphonates in ...

[Fe]-Hydrogenase catalyzes the hydrogenation of a biological substrate via the heterolytic splitting of molecular hydrogen. While many synthetic models of [Fe]-hydrogenase have been prepared, none yet are capable of activating H-2 on their own. Here, we re ...

The nickel pincer complex 1 catalyzes the cross-coupling of the title compounds with remarkable substrate scope and functional group tolerance. A nickel/alkynyl species was isolated and shown to be catalytically competent. THF=tetrahydrofuran, O-TMEDA=bis[ ...

We report the first bis-cyclometalated cationic iridium(III) complex with N-aryl-substituted 1H-imidazo [4,5-f][1,10]phenanthroline. The complex emits yellow-orange phosphorescence with a maximum at 583 nm, a quantum yield of 43%, and an excited-state life ...

Dative boron–nitrogen bonds can be used for the controlled assembly of boronate esters and N-donor ligands. So far, most investigations have focused on crystalline assemblies. In contrast, there are very few reports about soft materials based on dative B–N ...

Boronate esters that contain N-donor groups are self-complementary structures, which can assemble by means of dative boron–nitrogen bonds to form macrocycles or polymers. Herein, we describe the synthesis of dioxaborinanes and benzodioxaboroles containing ...

A new class of benzimidazole-substituted 8-hydroxyquinoline ligands has been prepared that contain a monoanionic tridentate N,N,O-coordinating unit. These ligands form charge-neutral lanthanide complexes of the type [Ln(LR) 3] · nH2O or [Ln2(L2)3] · nH2O ( ...

Ru-built cube: By combining metallasupramolecular chemistry with dynamic covalent chemistry, complex nanostructures can be formed. Large cages are synthesized by reaction of trinuclear metallamacrocycles containing pendant aldehyde groups. ...

Nanometer-sized polycarboxylate ligands are interesting building blocks for metallasupramolecular chemistry, but access to these compounds is often limited by complicated synthetic pathways. Here, we describe a simple two-step protocol, which allows prepar ...

The reaction of (cymene)RuCl2 (1) with PCY3 was investigated using different stoichiometries and reaction conditions. Whereas a mixture of complex 1 and 2 equiv of PCy3 in methanol gave the known adduct [(cymene)Rucl(2)(PCy3)] (3) along with the phosp ...

The new mixed-metal complex {anti-[(p-cymene)RuCl]-m-[k 2-P,P';k 1-P''-(PPh2CH2)3CMe]-[AuCl]}PF6 and its cluster deriv. {anti-[(p-cymene)RuCl]-m-[k 2-P,P';k 1-P''-(PPh2CH2)3CMe]-[AuPt3(CO)3(PCy3)3]}(PF6)2 have been prepd. and characterized. Notably, NMR sp ...

All-inorganic CsPbI3 perovskite solar cells (PSCs) with efficiencies exceeding 20% are ideal candidates for appli-cation in large-scale tandem solar cells. However, there are still two major obstacles hindering their scale-up: (i) the inhomogeneous solid-s ...

NiII complexes of the new pincer amidobis(amine) ligand are described. The Ni chloride complex catalyzes Kumada-Corriu-Tamao coupling of unactivated alkyl halides with alkyl Grignard reagents, as well as double C-C coupling of CH2Cl2 with alkyl Grignard re ...

Basic thermodynamic considerations are used to rationalize the formation of thermotropic mesophases incorporating aromatic ligands for trivalent lanthanide metal ions (Ln). Standard flat and bent molecular interfaces, separating the central binding unit fr ...

The crystal structure of a strontium-imidazolium polymeric material obtained from the reaction of zwitterionic 1,3-bis(carboxymethyl)-imidazolium with SrCO3 (2:1) in water is reported. The compound crystallized in the orthorhombic space group Pcc2 with a = ...
