Structural and electronic factors are crucial to rationalizethedifferent N,O or N,N chelating coordination of pyrazolones containinga pyridine ring. The reactivity of proligand 3-phenyl-1-(pyridin-2-yl)-5-pyrazolone(HLpy,ph) with the (arene)Ru(II) fragment ...

The structural characterization of supported molecular catalysts is challenging due to the low density of active sites and the presence of several organic/organometallic surface groups resulting from the often complex surface chemistry associated with supp ...

The usefulness of percent volume buried (%V-bur) as a readily quantifiable property is investigated with regard to Cu(NN)(PP) complexes of interest for lighting purposes. Photoluminescence quantum yields (PLQYs) and single crystal X-ray structures of ...

G protein-coupled receptors play essential roles in cellular processes such as neuronal signaling, vision, olfaction, tasting, and metabolism. As GPCRs are the most important drug targets, understanding their interactions with ligands is of utmost importan ...

The vast chemical space of metal and ligand combinations in Transition Metal Complexes (TMCs) gives rise to a rich variety of electronic excited states with local and non-local character such as intra-ligand (IL), metal-centered (MC), metal-to-ligand (MLCT ...

The hexanuclear [Na12Fe6(tris-cyclo-salophen)(2)(THF)(14)], 1-THF, and the trinuclear [Na6Fe3(tris-cyclo-salophen)(py)(9)], 1-py, Fe(II) clusters can be easily assembled in one step from the ligand-based reduction of the [FeII(salophen)(THF)] complex. Thes ...

The fabrication of defined and high-quality metal nanostructures is an ongoing topic of research. Direct-write deposition of copper nanostructures is of great value for many fields of research and industrial applications. Focused electron beam induced depo ...

The structural, thermomechanical, and viscoelastic properties of metallosupramolecular polymers (MSPs) can be controlled through the choice of the multiligand monomer and the nature of the metal salt from which these materials are assembled. This versatili ...

Dissolution of Fe(III) phases is a key process in making iron available to biota and in the mobilization of associated trace elements. Recently, we have demonstrated that submicromolar concentrations of Fe(II) significantly accelerate rates of ligand-contr ...

N-Heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) are the ligands of choice in a large variety of transformations entailing different transition metals. However, the number and variety of chiral NHCs suitable as stereo-controlling ligands in asymmetric catalysis remains limi ...

Capillary morphogenesis gene 2 (CMG2/ANTXR2) is a cell surface receptor for both collagen VI and anthrax toxin. Biallelic loss-of-function mutations in CMG2 lead to a severe condition, hyaline fibromatosis syndrome (HFS). We have here dissected a network o ...

Cancer is currently one of the deadliest diseases worldwide. Based on the high incidence of this disease, the side effects associated with current chemotherapies and the appearance of drug resistance, considerable efforts have been directed towards the dev ...

This thesis describes the design and synthesis of clathrochelate metalloligands for the construction of molecular nanostructures. The low synthetic effort, versatility and stability of the clathrochelate metalloligands makes them particularly suited to the ...

Metallosupramolecular assemblies of the general formula M2nLn can adopt prismatic or cage‐like structures. The factors controlling the aggregation number n and the geometry of the final assembly are still not fully understood. Here, we describe the synthes ...

Dissolution of Fe(III) (hydr)oxide minerals by siderophores (i.e., Fe-specific, biogenic ligands) is an important step in Fe acquisition in environments where Fe availability is low. The observed coexudation of reductants and ligands has raised the questio ...

Chiral cyclopentadienyl (Cp-x) group 9 metal complexes have become versatile catalysts for a variety of efficient enantioselective C-H functionalizations. Atropchiral binaphthyl-derived Cp-x ligands having tuning options at the 3,3'-positions present a rob ...

This thesis is dedicated to the study of various aspects of the electronic structure of two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) of chemical composition MX

_2

(where M is a transition metal atom and X= S, Se, Te), using a combination of \te ...

Annulated pyridones are an importantscaffold found in many biologically active compounds. ANi(0)-catalyzed C−H functionalization of 2- and 4-pyridones is disclosed, providing access to annulatedpyridones via enantioselective intramolecular olefin hydro-ary ...

The addition of a metastable-state photoacid to solutions containing metal–ligand assemblies renders the systems light responsive. Upon irradiation, proton transfer from the photoacid to the ligand is observed, resulting in disassembly of the metallasupram ...

The valorization of carbon dioxide and its transformation into useful chemicals is essential as mankind consumes more and more fossil fuels, thus producing equivalent wastes. The storage of hydrogen, a promising energy carrier, is also of great interest in ...
