Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is an effective clinical treatment for a number of different cancers. PDT can induce hypoxia and inflammation, pro-angiogenic side effects, which may counteract its angio-occlusive mechanism. The combination of PDT with anti-angi ...

The reactions of arene-metal complexes (arene = p-cymene, benzene or pentamethylcyclopentadienyl, metal = Ru, Rh or Os), including 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphatricyclo-[3.3.1.1]decanephosphine (pta) and chloro co-ligands, with 9-methylguanine, adenine, and a ser ...

Heteronuclear Au–Pd nanoparticles were prepared and immobilized in the functionalized ionic liquid [C2OHmim][NTf2]. The structural and electronic properties of the nanoparticles were characterized by a range of techniques and the surface of the nanoparticl ...

Two different fluorescent single walled carbon nanotubes (SWNT) were prepd. First by a reaction of oxidized SWNT-K salt with 1,3-bis(9-anthracenylmethyl)imidazolium chloride (bamim)Cl to provide a fluorescent system SWNT-(bamim), via ion exchange and forma ...

The fluorescent imidazolium salt (1,3-bis(9-anthracenylmethyl)imidazolium chloride, [bamim]Cl) has been grafted onto the surfaces of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) using an ion exchange strategy based on metathesis of the K+ ion in CO2K derivatized ...

A series of large cationic hexanuclear metalla-prisms, Ru-6(p-iPrC(6)H(4)Me)(6)(tpt)(2)(donq)(3), Ru-6(p-iPrC(6)H(4)Me)(6)(tpt)(2)(doaq)(3) and Ru-6(p-iPrC(6)H(4)Me)(6)(tpt)(2)(dotq)(3), composed of p-cymene-ruthenium building blocks brid ...

Arene ruthenium complexes contg. long-chain N-ligands L1 = NC5H4-4-COO-C6H4-4-O-(CH2)9-CH3 or L2 = NC5H4-4-COO-(CH2)10-O-C6H4-4-COO-C6H4-4-C6H4-4-CN derived from isonicotinic acid, of the type [(arene)Ru(L)Cl2] (arene = C6H6, L = L1: 1; arene = p-MeC6H4Pr ...

The development of cyclometalated rhodium and iridium complexes from first-and second-generation naphthaldimine-based poly(propyleneimine) dendrimer scaffolds of the type, DAB-(NH2)(n) (where n = 4 or 8, DAB = diaminobutane) has been accomplished. Four met ...

A biphasic approach to the dehydroaromatization of bioderived limonene into water-insol. p-cymene using sol. Pd nanoparticle catalysts in an aq. phase (³150 °C, 2 bar H2) was successfully achieved with a conversion of 93% and a selectivity of 82%. The Pd n ...

This review commences with a survey of the general synthetic routes leading to aminophosphines containing the P-NH subgroup. Recent examples involving functionalised and chiral aminophosphines are included. The synthesis and structural properties of deprot ...

Five different types of β-diketiminate ligands, bearing electron-donating to strongly electron-withdrawing substituents, were synthesized and used in the synthesis of Cp* ruthenium complexes (Cp* = η5-C5Me5). One series consists of complexes with a covalen ...

Reaction of the dimers [Ru(h6-arene)Cl2]2 (arene = C6H6, C6H5Me, p-iPrC6H4Me, C6Me6) with 2 equiv of the ferrocenoyl pyridine (NC5H4(OOCC5H4FeC5H5)-4) affords Ru(II) complexes [Ru(h6-arene)Cl2(NC5H4OOCC5H4FeC5H5)] (arene = C6H6 (1, 85% yield), C6H5Me (2, 8 ...

Novel chemical compounds of the general formula KA, in which K is a 5- or 6- membered heterocyclic ring having 1-3 hetereo atoms, which can be independently N, S, or 0 with the proviso that at least one of the hetereo atoms must be a quaternized n ...

Chlorinated compounds are ubiquitous. However, accumulation of chlorine-containing waste has a negative impact on human health and the environment due to the inapplicability of common disposal methods, such as landfill and incineration. Here we report a su ...

The carbonic anhydrase inhibitor acetazolamide (AcmH2) reacted with [(η6-p-cymene)RuCl(μ-Cl)]2 to afford [(η6-p-cymene)RuCl2(κN-AcmH2)], 1A, in near-quantitative yield. In methanol, 1A exists in equilibrium with 1B, being probably a coordination isomer, as ...

Organometallic ruthenium(II) complexes of the general formula [Ru(η6-p-cymene)Cl2(L)] and [Ru(η6-p-cymene)Cl(L)2][BPh4] with modified phenoxazine- and anthracene-based multidrug resistanc ...

Prolonged consumption of water contaminated with fluoride ions (F-) at concentrations exceeding 1.5 ppm can lead to considerable health implications, particularly in children and developing embryos. With irreversible and potentially severe forms of fluorid ...

Hybrid perovskite solar cells have attracted tremendous interest in the photovoltaic community. Despite their high defect tolerance, reducing the trap density by material engineering and surface modification is still critical to further boost performance. ...

In water, spin–lattice relaxation times (T1) and calibration curves for chemical shifts have been determined for the 13C and the 1H (C) atoms in HCOOH, HCOONa, CO2, Na2CO3 and NaHCO3 by NMR spectroscopy. These data facilitate kinetic and mechanistic studie ...
