Cobalt(II) complexes featuring hexadentate amino-pyridyl ligands have been recently discovered as highly active catalysts for the Hydrogen Evolution Reaction (HER), whose high performance arises from the possibility of assisting proton transfer processes v ...

Synthetic strategies to isolate molecular complexes of lanthanides, other than cerium, in the +4 oxidation state remain elusive, with only four complexes of Tb(iv) isolated so far. Herein, we present a new approach for the stabilization of Tb(iv) using a s ...

We report new bis-cyclometalated cationic indium(III) complexes ((CN)-N-boolean AND)(2)Ir(CN-tert-Bu)(2) that have tert-butyl isocyanides as neutral auxiliary ligands and 2-phenylpyridine or 2-(4'-fluoropheny1)-R-pyridines (where R is 4-methoxy, ...

We report on new anionic tridentate benzimidazole-pyridine-tetrazolate ligands that form neutral 3:1 complexes with trivalent lanthanides. The ligands are UV-absorbing chromophores that sensitize the red luminescence of europium with energy-transfer effici ...

Iron(II) cage complexes with terminal 4-pyridyl groups can be incorporated in metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) via solvent-assisted ligand exchange (SALE). Paddle -wheeled MOFs with N,N'-di-4-pyridylnaphthalenete-tracarboxydiimide pillars were used as start ...

Multimetallic-multielectron cooperativity plays a key role in the metal-mediated cleavage of N-2 to nitrides (N3-). In particular, low-valent uranium complexes coupled with strong alkali metal reducing agents can lead to N-2 cleavage, but often, it is ambi ...

Layered halide perovskites (LHPs) are emerging semiconductor materials due to their superior environmental stability compared to that of traditional halide perovskites. While LHPs have tunable optoelectronic properties, quantum and dielectric confinement e ...

Square planar gold(iii) complexes that contain functionalised bipyridine ligands of general formula [Au(NN)Cl2][PF6] [where NN = 2,2'-bipyridine, 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine, 4,4'-dimethoxy-2,2'-bipyridine and 4,4'-diamino-2,2'-bipyridine] have been prep ...

Hydrogen bonding in ionic liquids based on the 1-(2'-hydroxylethyl)-3-methylimidazolium cation (C(2)OHmim) and various anions (A) of differing H-bond acceptor strength, viz. hexafluorophosphate PF6, tetrafluoroborate BF4, bis-(trifluoro ...

A coumarin derivative was employed for the detection of biogenic amines in buffered aqueous solution by UV-Vis or fluorescence spectroscopy. Incorporated in a polymeric matrix, the dye can also be used for the optical detection of gaseous amines. ...

The heterobitopic ligands LAB4 and LAB5 have been designed and synthesised with the ultimate aim of self-assembling dual-function lanthanide complexes containing either a magnetic and a luminescent probe or two luminescent probes emitting at different wave ...

Direct reaction between [Cr(CO)6] and arenes with ionic substituents affords the corresponding arene-chromium tricarbonyl complexes, [Cr(CO)3(arene)], in only modest yield. In contrast, these complexes can be prepared in pure form in ...

A series of cationic iridium(III) complexes with two carbene-based cyclometalating ligands and five different NN bipyridine and 1,10-phenanthroline ancillary ligands is presented. For the first time in the frame of a rarely studied class of bis(heterole ...

1,2-Bis(2'-nitrophenoxy)-3-R-benzenes {R = H (1), CH3 (2) and OCH3 (3)} have been prepared from the S-N-Ar reaction between 1-fluoro-2-nitrobenzene and 3-R-catechol (aromatic diol), and are then reduced to the corresponding diamines 1,2-bis(2'-aminophenoxy ...

Trimethyl (1), tributyl (2), and triphenyl tin (3) derivatives of sodium (R)-4-((3R, 5R, 8R, 9S, 10S, 12S, 13R, 14S, 17R)-3,12-dihydroxy-10,13-dimethyl-hexadecahydro-1H-cyclopenta[a] phenanthren-17-yl)pentanoate (sodium deoxycholate) were synthesized by re ...

Herein, we report the redox reactivity of a multimetallic uranium complex supported by triphenylsiloxide (−OSiPh3) ligands, where we show that low valent synthons can be stabilized via an unprecedented mechanism involving intramolecular ligand migration. T ...

Valorization of CO2, an abundant C(1) synthon, into platform chemicals is of growing interest. In this context, a key reaction is the cycloaddition of CO2 to epoxides to form carbonates (CCE). A series of organocatalysts for this reaction, based on imidazo ...

Crystalline thin films of pi-conjugated molecules are relevant as the active layers in organic electronic devices. Therefore, materials with enhanced control over the supramolecular arrangement, crystallinity, and thin-film morphology are desirable. Herein ...

A structure–activity study was carried out for Ni catalyzed alkyl–alkyl Kumada-type cross coupling reactions. A series of new nickel(II) complexes including those with tridentate pincer bis(amino)amide ligands (RN2N) and those with bidentate mixed amino-am ...

N-Heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) react at ambient conditions with nitrous oxide to give covalent adducts. In the crystal, all compounds show a bent N2O group connected via the N-atom to the former carbene carbon atom. Most adducts are stable at room temperat ...
