We present and characterize an organic–inorganic hybrid sol–gel material, phenyl-bridged polysilsesquioxane (ph-PSQ), for use as a new highresolution resist for electron beam lithography (EBL). The resist has a unique characteristic as the only positive to ...

A strategy for a simple dispersion of commercial multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) using two organosilicones, polycarbosilane SMP10 and polysilazane Ceraset PSZ20, in organic solvents such as cyclohexane, tetrahydrofuran (THF), m-xylene and chloroform ...

A shape-tunable approach is demonstrated for the fabrication of multi-scale polymer microlenses ([small mu ]-lenses) and microlens arrays (MLAs) using an ink-jet printing (IJP) technique. Also, the influence of the surface wetting conditions on the geometr ...

Gold nanoparticles with hydrophobic surface have been deposited on a silicon substrate chemically patterned by reactive ion etching through a stencil mask and chemical vapour deposition of alkyl silanes. After deposition by dipping and adequate rinsing, th ...

Fast hydrogen sensors based on discontinuous palladium (Pd) films on supporting polyimide layers, fabricated by a cost-efficient and full-wafer compatible process, are presented. The films, deposited by electron-beam evaporation with a nominal thickness of 1. ...

One of the ultimate tasks for stencil lithography is the ability to fabricate arrays of structures with controlled dimensions on the nanometer scale precisely positioned on a suitable surface. The race to shrink feature sizes requires the limits of convent ...

We fabricated amorphous silicon n-i-p solar cells with two types of nanopatterned back reflectors using stencil lithography. One reflector type has a plasmonic grating that is embedded in the ZnO layer; the other one has a metallic grating patterned on top ...

Silk fibroin (SF) is a natural material with polymorphic structures that determine its water solubility and biodegradability, which can be altered by exposing it to heat. Here, a hybrid thermal lithography method combining scalable microscale laser-based p ...

In this paper, we report on a process to prepare gold nanoparticle stripes on SiO2 by convective/capillary assembly without any patterning of the substrate. Electrical devices were then fabricated using stencil lithography in order to avoid any contaminati ...

Microlens arrays fabricated by a direct ink-jet printing of UV-curable hybrid polymer are reported. A periodic pattern of polymer drops was ink-jet printed on the surface-treated glass substrate and cured in the UV-light. Using this simple technique, we de ...

We present in this work the fabrication of high aspect ratio nanopores in 500 nm PECVD SiC films through AAO (anodic aluminum oxide) mask. The initial AAO thin film is 180 nm thick and the diameter of nanopores is 33 ± 7 nm. We have used three plasma chemi ...

A hydrogen sensor based on large arrays of nanoswitches in palladium (Pd) is presented. An individual nanoswitch is realized by a suspended Pd/Ti/poly-Si trimorph electrode and a fixed Pd/Ti bottom electrode, which are separated by a vertical nanoscopic ga ...

In this work a double-gate pentacene TFT architecture is presented. The devices are fabricated on a polyimide substrate using three aligned levels of stencil lithography along with standard photolithography, which enable a soft yet well controlled device p ...

Hydrogen sensing is essential to ensure safety in near-future zero-emission fuel cell powered vehicles. Here, we present a novel hydrogen sensor based on the resonant frequency change of a nanoelectromechanical clamped-clamped beam. The beam is coated with ...

Microstencil lithography, i.e. local deposition of micrometer scale patterns through small shadow masks, is a promising method for metal micropattern definition on polymer substrates that cannot be structured using organic-solvent-based photoresist technol ...

Fundamental aspects and state-of-the-art results of thermal scanning probe lithography (t-SPL) are reviewed here. t-SPL is an emerging direct-write nanolithography method with many unique properties which enable original or improved nano-patterning in appl ...

We demonstrate a high-resolution implementation of quasi-dynamic stencil lithography based on the integration of a micro-hotplate on the stencil membrane. The stencil design has been tailored so that the thermally actuated membrane reduces the gap between ...

To grow small molecule semiconductor thin films with domain size larger than modern-day device sizes, we evaporate the material through a dense array of small apertures, called a stencil nanosieve. The aperture size of 0.5 μm results in low nucleation dens ...

The hydrogen sensing characteristics of a single nanotrench fabricated by focused ion beam milling (FIB) in an evaporated palladium microwire are presented. In situ atomic force microscopy (AFM) measurements proved that, in the presence of H2, the trench c ...

Triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) has proven to be a robust power source to efficiently convert ambient mechanical energy into electricity. It experienced substantial growth in the past years owing to its appealing features that make it superior than othe ...
