While cell sorting usually relies on cell-surface protein markers, molecular beacons (MBs) offer the potential to sort cells based on the presence of any expressed mRNA and in principle could be extremely useful to sort rare cell populations from primary i ...

The present invention features linear and three-dimensional supramolecular materials self-assembled from block copolymers comprising oligo(ethylene sulfide) (OES). The block copolymers assemble into fibrils, micelles, or matrices. The fibrillar materials a ...

Heparin binding peptides derived from a Tenascin (TNC) III1-5 domain or a fibrinogen ²15-66 domain have been found that bind certain cytokines with high affinity. Materials and methods for making compositions and devices using these peptides are disclosed. ...

We present a microfluidic device where micro- and nanoparticles can be continuously functionalized in flow. This device relies on an element called particle exchanger, which allows for particles to be taken from one medium and exposed to some reagent while ...

Delivery of biodegradable nanoparticles to antigen-presenting cells (APCs), specifically dendritic cells (DCs), has potential for immunotherapy. This study investigates the delivery of 20, 45, and 100nm diameter poly(ethylene glycol)-stabilized poly(propyl ...

Cationic micelles formed from poly(ethylene glycol)-bl-poly(propylene sulfide)-bl-poly(ethylene imine) (PEG-b-PPS-b-PEI) and from mixtures of poly(ethylene glycol)-bl-poly(propylene sulfide) (PEG-b-PPS) with PEG-b-PPS-b-PEI were explored as non-viral vecto ...

Peptides that specifically bind erythrocytes are described. These are provided as peptidic ligands having sequences that specifically bind, or as antibodies or fragments thereof that provide specific binding, to erythrocytes. The peptides may be prepared a ...

The invention relates to a scaffold material comprising a carrier and embedded microbeads for use in tissue engineering applications such as soft tissues therapeutic treatment. The scaffold provides a short-term bulking effect coupled with a long-term func ...

Several embodiments of the present disclosure relate to therapeutic compositions configured to target the liver of a subject and that are useful in the treatment or prevention of one or more of transplant rejection, autoimmune disease, food allergy, and im ...
