This chapter explores dual-band telemetry systems and presents a dual-band inductive link operating at 6.78 and 13.56 MHz within the industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) frequency bands. The primary goal is to enable wireless power and data transmission for multisite biomedical implants. To minimize magnetic interference between coils and optimize the area, a single-coil transmitter configuration is adopted in the presented design. Additionally, this chapter examines the benefits of using various plana

An assessment of the fault-tolerance properties of single-ended and differential signaling is shown in the context of a high defect density environment, using a robust error-absorbing circuit architecture. A software tool based on Monte-Carlo simulations i ...

A novel compressive sampling scheme suitable for highly scalable hardware implementations is presented. The scheme utilizes an identical pseudo-random sequence for every image column, therefore reducing in-pixel hardware complexity and allowing measurement ...

A novel compressive sampling scheme suitable for highly scalable hardware implementation is presented. The prototype design is implemented in a 0.18um standard CMOS technology and utilizes compressed acquisition to achieve high frame rates and maintain low power consumption. Specialized pixels, convenient for Comparator-Based Switched Capacitor readout are developed for this purpose. A custom measurement matrix generation algorithm is implemented which reduces in-pixel hardware complexity and performs measu

Compressive Sampling (CS) offers bandwidth, power and memory size reduction compared to conventional (Nyquist) sampling. However, very few Integrated Circuit (IC) designs based on CS exist due to the missing link between the well-established CS theory on o ...

The precise evaluation of the reliability of logic circuits has a significant importance in highly-defective and future nanotechnologies. It allows efficient comparison of fault-tolerance techniques, and enables designs improvement with respect to their re ...

The importance of developing predictive modeling tools has considerably increased with the diffusion of nanoscale technologies, in which strained layers and heterojunctions determine the materials modeling complexity. A self--consistent Poisson--Schroedinger solver based on a full-band k.p method within the envelope-function approximation has been developed and validated on large test structures, studying the oxide capacitance for various gate stacks. Among the effects governing the electrostatics of the de

A new plenoptic sensor inspired from the visual system of flying insects is introduced. This sensor is referred to as the Panoptic camera. This system has two distinguished features. First it is an omnidirectional camera capable of recording light information around it. Second it is a polydioptric system where each CMOS facet has a distinct focal plane; hence the full system is multiple aperture camera. An FPGA based solution is proposed for real time application deployment. The omnidirectional vision recon
