Chemical doping is an important strategy to alter the charge-transport properties of both molecular and polymeric organic semiconductors that find widespread application in organic electronic devices. We report on the use of a new class of Co(III) complexe ...

Realizing stable and scalable perovskite solar cells (PSCs) under real-world outdoor conditions remains a challenge for deployment. Here we report a strategy to improve the resilience of the grain boundary, achieving simultaneous improvement in the power conversion efficiency and long-term operational durability under realistic light cycling and ultraviolet exposure of PSCs. By integrating photoswitchable isomers at grain boundaries, we suppress lattice bond rupture and defect accumulation during repeated l

Tin (Sn)‐based perovskites are promising materials for perovskite‐based light‐emitting diodes (PeLEDs) that avoid toxic lead. However, the performance of Sn‐based PeLEDs lags behind that of their lead analogues due to uncontrolled crystallization, the susceptibility of Sn(II) to oxidation, and high defect densities. In this study, ammonium thiocyanate (NH 4 SCN) is used as an additive in DMSO‐free perovskite precursor solution to afford Sn‐based perovskites that are evaluated in PeLEDs. NH 4 SCN modulates t

Organic–inorganic lead halide perovskites have shown photovoltaic performances above 20% in a range of solar cell architectures while offering simple and low-cost processability. Despite the multiple ionic compositions that have been reported so far, the p ...

The highest photoelectric conversion efficiency (9.61%) for a quasi-solid-state DSSC (QS-DSSC) based on a low molecular mass organogelator (LMOG) is achieved using N, N'-1,5-pentanediylbis-dodecanamide as a LMOG in conjunction with a TiO2 photoanode of sub ...

For using 2,2',7,7'-tetrakis(N,N'-di-p-methoxyphenylamine)-9,9'-spirobifluorene (spiro-OMeTAD) as a hole conductor in solar cells, it is necessary to improve its charge-transport properties through electrochemical doping. With the aim of fabricating effici ...

The increasing efficiency of perovskite solar cells (PSCs), driven by their low cost, low carbon footprint and easy processability, offers real opportunities for new markets in innovative photovoltaic (PV) technology. A crucial challenge in this transition is device instability. Carbon-based perovskite solar cells offer a promising alternative with the advantages of more abundant materials and stable performance. This review provides a comprehensive and critical analysis of recent advancements in carbon-bas

Organic-inorganic metal-halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have achieved a certified power-conversion efficiency (PCE) of 25.5%. However, long-term stability and air stability of the PSCs are still major concerns and hamper commercialization. Herein, we ...

Over the past 20 years, ruthenium(II)-based dyes have played a pivotal role in turning dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) into a mature technology for the third generation of photovoltaics. However, the classic I3−/I− redox couple limits the performance and application of this technique. Simply replacing the iodine-based redox couple by new types like cobalt(3+/2+) complexes was not successful because of the poor compatibility between the ruthenium(II) sensitizer and the cobalt redox species. To address this

Hole transport materials (HTMs) are a key component of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). The small molecular 2,2',7,7'-tetrakis(N,N-di-p-methoxyphenyl)-amine-9,9'-spirobifluorene (spiro-OMeTAD, termed "Spiro") is the most successful HTM used in PSCs, but its ...

Solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells were fabricated using an organic dye, 2-cyanoacrylic acid-4-(bis-dimethylfluoreneaniline)dithiophene (JK2), which exhibits more than 1 V open-circuit potential (V-oc). To scrutinize the origin of high voltage in these ...
