The good electrical and morphological characteristics of TiO2 nanofibers and the high extinction coefficient of CH3NH3PbI3 perovskite are combined to obtain a solar cell with a power conversion efficiency of 9.8%. The increase of the film thickness dramati ...

Bridged triphenylamine was chosen as the donor unit for metal-free organic sensitizers in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). The easily constructed alkene linkage between the donor and the spacer improves the molecule's delocalization and causes a large r ...

We report panchromatic light harvesting in hybrid TiO2/P3HT photovoltaic devices using a porphyrin dye that complements the light absorption of P3HT. The high short circuit photocurrent (12.1 mA cm(-2)) obtained is found to be due, in part, to Forster reso ...

Photovoltaic cells have been dominated so far by solid state p-n junction devices made from silicon or gallium arsenide wavers or thin film embodiments based on amorphous silicon, CdTe and copper indium gallium diselenide (CIGS) profiting from the experience and material availability of the semiconductor industry. Recently there has been a surge of interest for devices that are based on nanoscale inorganic or organic semiconductors commonly referred to as “bulk” junctions due to their interconnected three-d

We present a facile mechanochemical route for the preparation of hybrid CH3NH3PbI3 (MAPbI(3)) perovskite particles with the size of several hundred nanometers for high-efficiency thin-film photovoltaic devices. Powder X-ray diffraction measurements demonst ...

This paper reports the synthesis and characterisation of a family of heterocyclic triethoxysilyl iodides of general formula, (EtO)(3)SiR2-(N+R1), where R-1 = -C5H11, -CH2C6H5 or -C16H33; N+ = pyrrolidinium or piperidinium; and R-2 = -(CH2)(3)- and -(CH2)(1 ...

All-inorganic metal halide perovskites are showing promising development towards efficient long-term stable materials and solar cells. Element doping, especially on the lead site, has been proved to be a useful strategy to obtain the desired film quality a ...

The highest photoelectric conversion efficiency (9.61%) for a quasi-solid-state DSSC (QS-DSSC) based on a low molecular mass organogelator (LMOG) is achieved using N, N'-1,5-pentanediylbis-dodecanamide as a LMOG in conjunction with a TiO2 photoanode of sub ...

For using 2,2',7,7'-tetrakis(N,N'-di-p-methoxyphenylamine)-9,9'-spirobifluorene (spiro-OMeTAD) as a hole conductor in solar cells, it is necessary to improve its charge-transport properties through electrochemical doping. With the aim of fabricating effici ...

Ionic liquid electrolytes are prepared using sulfolane as a plasticizer for eutectic melts to realize highly stable and efficiently performing dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) in hot climate conditions. Variations in the viscosity of the formulations with ...

A series of new hybrid organic-inorganic molecules were prepared either by grafting of aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTS) on silica nanoparticles followed by quaternarization of the nitrogen with ethyl, heptyl and isopropyl iodides or by grafting of N,N,N-t ...

Using sun as the energy source, natural photosynthesis carries out a number of useful reactions such as oxidation of water to molecular oxygen and fixation of CO2 in the form of sugars. These are achieved through a series of light-induced multielectron-tra ...

Solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells were fabricated using an organic dye, 2-cyanoacrylic acid-4-(bis-dimethylfluoreneaniline)dithiophene (JK2), which exhibits more than 1 V open-circuit potential (V-oc). To scrutinize the origin of high voltage in these ...

Here, the large scale synthesis of nanocrystalline ZnO spheres and tetrapods in the size range of 8-40 nm by chemical vapor synthesis using zinc metal as precursor is described. A detailed study of the effect of experimental parameters on the morphology an ...

The pressure to move towards renewable energy has inspired researchers to look for ideas in photovoltaics that may lead to a major breakthrough. Recently the use of perovskites as a light harvester has lead to stunning progress. The power conversion effici ...

A novel heteroleptic Ru-II complex (BTC-2) employing 5,5'-(2,2'-bipyridine-4,4'-diyl)-bis(thiophene-2-carboxylic acid) (BTC) as the anchoring group and 4,4'-dinonyl-2,2'-bipiridyl and two thiocyanates as ligands is prepared. The photovoltaic performance an ...

A series of TaOxNy photoelectrodes were deposited on F:SnO2 (FTO) substrates by DC reactive sputtering at room temperature, under a mixture of Ar, N-2 and O-2. The effects of the O-2 partial pressure during deposition (Po-2) on the films crystallinity, the ...

We report a highly efficient solar cell based on a submicrometer (similar to 0.6 mu m) rutile TiO2 nanorod sensitized with CH3NH3PbI3 perovskite nanodots. Rutile nanorods were grown hydrothermally and their lengths were varied through the control of the re ...

The attachment of a tetradecyl chain to the ionophore 18-crown-6 leads to a stronger interaction with a supported lipid monolayer. Some C14-18-crown-6 mols. introduced in the aq. phase are incorporated in the phospholipid membrane. This process is used to produce ionophore contg. lipid monolayers of detd. compn. at the surface of an electrode. The ionophore content and the sensitivity to K+ of these layers are detd. by capacitance measurements. [on SciFinder (R)]

A simple one-step heat-treatment of peroxotitanate complex aqueous solution at around 100 degrees C was resulted in the formation of ellipsoidal anatase TiO2 nanoparticles having a high aspect ratio with no branches. The length of these ellipsoidal TiO2 fa ...
