A system and method to generate ultrashort high beam quality pulses from spatio- temporally mode-locked multimode fiber laser are described. The invention relies on engineering the intra-cavity pulse propagation in a multimode laser cavity to shape the spa ...

As microfiber-based additive manufacturing (AM) technologies, melt electrowriting (MEW) and solution electrowriting (SEW) have demonstrated efficacy with more biomedically relevant materials. By processing SU-8 resin using MEW and SEW techniques, a materia ...

Endoscopic imaging through a multicore fiber (MCF) is widely used but is affected by pixelated images, which limits its resolution to a few micrometers. This is due to the spacing between the cores in the MCF, which is large enough to avoid core-to-core li ...

Accurate intraday solar irradiance forecasting is crucial for optimizing dispatch planning and electricity trading. For this purpose, we introduce a novel and effective approach that includes three distinguishing components from the literature: 1) the unco ...

In digital holographic microscopy (DHM), the long coherence length of laser light causes parasitic interferences due to multiple reflections in and by optical components in the optical path of the microscope and thus degrades the image quality. The parasit ...

Ptychography has become a popular computational imaging method for microscopy in recent years. In the present work we employ a wavelength scanning ptychography technique enhanced by neural networks for imaging with a fiber endoscope. Illumination of the ob ...

Spatiotemporal mode-locked fiber lasers are a type of ultrafast lasers for which the longitudinal and transverse modes of the multimode fiber cavities are locked via nonlinear interaction in the cavity. Here we report the experimental realization of a spat ...

A fundamental challenge in neuroengineering is determining a proper artificial input to a sensory system that yields the desired perception. In neuroprosthetics, this process is known as artificial sensory encoding, and it holds a crucial role in prostheti ...

We demonstrate for the first time to our knowledge a digital phase conjugation technique for generating a sharp focus point at the end of a multimode optical fiber. A sharp focus with a contrast of 1800 is experimentally obtained at the tip of a 105 mu m c ...

A retinal projector system, comprising a coupling means, a spacial light modulator, and a tapered optical waveguide having an input side surface and an output side surface, whereby the input side surface is larger than the output side surface, the coupling ...

Tomographic Additive Manufacturing produces three-dimensional objects by projecting light patterns onto cell-laden hydrogels. We improve print resolution and reduce the effects of scattering by incorporating a refractive-index matching agent. ...

The present invention is related to a method of digitally compensating distortions of rays of a light beam in tomography- based additive manufacturing, wherein said tomography-based additive manufacturing involves projecting light patterns from multiple an ...

Photoresponsive materials for use with a volumetric additive manufacturing system are described herein. Some embodiments of photoresponsive materials described herein include at least one constituent selected from the group consisting of (i) a thiol-contai ...

We experimentally demonstrate a hybrid optical-digital neural network utilizing a high-dimensional nonlinear optics system. Precise digital modelling enables the system to achieve competitive performance in machine learning tasks. ...

The invention relates to oblique transscleral illumination of an eye fundus with at least one physical point light source around the eye allowing for dark field imaging combined with optical coherence tomography imaging. ...

Two-photon additive manufacturing of ceramic materials has demon-strated high-precision manufacturing of tools at the micrometer scale. Here, we propose single photon volumetric additive manufacturing toovercome limitations on print size and which avoid th ...

The invention discloses systems and methods for generation of microfluidic jets providing a tool for very precise and localized delivery of e.g., medicaments. The proposed solution overcomes shortcomings related to miniaturization of a jet injection techno ...
