Charge transport and extraction in polycrystalline perovskite films are often hindered by inefficient carrier transfer across grain domain boundaries (GDBs). Herein, we present a universal post-treatment strategy leveraging supramolecular crown ether-assisted slow release and precise delivery of Rb⁺ cations to GDBs, achieving in-situ GDB bridging. The solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), transmission electron microscopic (TEM), and time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS) analyses

A new metal-free organic sensitizer (see figure) for high-performance and applicable dye-sensitized solar cells is presented. In combination with a solvent-free ionic liquid electrolyte, a similar to 7% cell made with this sensitizer shows all excellent st ...

A-site cation mixing can enhance the photovoltaic performance of a wide-bandgap (WBG) perovskite, but rubidium (Rb) cation mixing generally forms a nonperovskite phase. We report that lattice strain locks Rb ions into the α-phase of the lattice of a triple ...

A Ca2+ sensor based on the admittance change of synthetic membranes supported on derivatized silicon electrodes is reported. The ion-sensitive membranes consist of mixed monolayers of phospholipid and the Ca2+-ligand ETH 1001. The electrodes are characterized electrochem. and their sensor performances are described. Through ion complexation by the neutral ligand, elec. charges are incorporated in the low-dielec.-const. environment of the sensitive layer. The no. of charged complexes and thus the membrane ad

A high power density and high capacity primary or secondary electrochemical generator in which at least one electrode (1,2) is composed of an electrically active solid material, said electrode having a mesoporous texture forming a bicontinuous junction of large specific surface area with the electrolyte. The specific morphology of the electro-active material permits high rates of ion insertion in the solid while allowing for rapid ion transport in electrolyte present in the porous space of the electrode. Sp

Propionitrile electrolyte solutions mixed with sulfolane or with 1-ethyl 3-methyl imidazolium tetracyanoborate (ionic liquid) are optimized for Co(bpy)(3)(3+)/Co(bpy)(3)(2+)-tmediated DSCs working at low illumination intensity. Highly-active cathode cataly ...

In this study, we investigated the tetraalkylammonium salts of the weakly coordinating fluorinated alkoxyaluminates pftb (Al(O(C(CF3)(3))(4)) hfip (Al(OC(H)-(CF3)(2))(4)) and hftb (Al(OC(CH3)(-) (CF3)(2))(4)) in order to obtai ...

The extension of the light absorption of photovoltaics into the near-infrared region is important to increase the energy conversion efficiency. Although the progress of the lead halide perovskite solar cells is remarkable, and high conversion efficiency of ...

Dye-sensitized solar cells with power conversion efficiencies of up to 6.5% have been fabricated using a cobalt trisbipyridyl redox mediator with the cis-diisothiocyanato-(2,2'-bipyridyl-4,4'-dicarboxylic acid)-(2,2'-bipyridyl-4,4'-dinonyl) ruthenium(II) ( ...

Thin compact layers of TiO2 are grown by thermal oxidation of Ti, by spray pyrolysis, by electrochemical deposition, and by atomic layer deposition. These layers are used in dye-sensitized solar cells to prevent recombination of electrons from the substrat ...

Herein, we review our latest advancements in nanostructured photoanodes for next generation photovoltaics in general and dye-sensitized solar cells in particular. Bottom-up self-assembly techniques are developed to fabricate large-area 3D nanostructures th ...

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have made great advances in terms of power conversion efficiency (PCE), yet their subpar stability continues to hinder their commercialization. The interface between the perovskite layer and the charge-carrier transporting lay ...

Catalysts featuring multiple active sites hold significant potential for CO2 photoconversion to multi-carbon products. However, multi-metal-site catalysts typically face challenges with low yields and selectivity for ethylene production, with a lack of def ...

Copper redox mediators can be employed in dye sensitized solar cells (DSCs) both as liquid electrolytes or as solid state hole transport materials (HTMs). The solid state devices that employ copper complex HTMs can be simply obtained by solvent evaporation ...

This work reports the design and synthesis of acceptor-donor-acceptor (A-D-A) type low band gap hole transport materials (HTM) comprising S,N-heteropentacene central units for solid-state perovskite-based solar cells. The optical and electrochemical proper ...

Dye-sensitized nanocrystalline solar cells (DSC) have received considerable attention as a cost-effective alternative to conventional solar cells. One of the main factors that has hampered widespread practical use of DSC is the poor thermostability encount ...

Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) are one of the most promising environmental friendly and low material costs photovoltaic devices. DSCs accomplish the separation of the optical absorption and charge separation processes by the association of a sensitizer ...

The poor electronic conductivity of LiFePO4 has been one of the major issues impeding it from achieving high power and energy density lithium-ion batteries. In this communication, a novel polymer-wiring concept was proposed to improve the conduction of the ...

Recent advances in low‐cost manufacturing as well as in bulk/interface engineering have positioned zinc ferrite (ZnFe2O4, ZFO) in the spotlight as a candidate material for solar water oxidation. However, the severe recombination at the reactive interface r ...

Chemical doping is an important strategy to alter the charge-transport properties of both molecular and polymeric organic semiconductors that find widespread application in organic electronic devices. We report on the use of a new class of Co(III) complexe ...
