We formulate a kinetic theory of quantum information scrambling in the context of a paradigmatic model of interacting electrons in the vicinity of a superconducting phase transition. We carefully derive a set of coupled partial differential equations that ...

In an earlier work [1], we introduced dual-Parameterized Quantum Circuit (PQC) Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN), an advanced prototype of quantum GAN. We applied the model on a realistic High-Energy Physics (HEP) use case: the exact theoretical simula ...

We investigate experimentally and theoretically the impact of valence band mixing and spectrum of confined states on the polarization of light emitted from or absorbed by GaAs/AlGaAs semiconductor quantum dots and quantum wires with tailored heterostructur ...

Motivated by the need to perform large-scale kinetic Monte Carlo (KMC) simulations, in the context of unravelling complex phenomena such as catalyst reconstruction and pattern formation, we extend the work of Ravipati et al. [S. Ravipati, G. D. Savva, I.-A ...

Truly wearable, fully flexible, and multiparametric sweat analysis with soft and socially discrete packaging offers tremendous potential to enable the next generation of noninvasive digital biomarkers analysis. Several examples of miniaturized potentiometr ...

Fluctuations play a critical role in cosmology. They are relevant across a range of phenomena from the dynamics of inflation to the formation of structure. In many cases, these fluctuations are coarse grained and follow a Gaussian distribution as a consequ ...

We report high-resolution single-crystal inelastic neutron scattering measurements on the spin-1/2 antiferromagnet Ba(TiO)Cu-4(PO4)(4). This material is formed from layers of four-site "cupola" structures, oriented alternately upwards and downwards, which ...

Bioelectronic implantable systems (BIS) targeting biomedical and clinical research should combine long-term performance and biointegration in vivo. Here, recent advances in novel encapsulations to protect flexible versions of such systems from the surround ...

Measuring vibrations is essential to ensuring building structural safety and machine stability. Predictive maintenance is a central internet of things (IoT) application within the new industrial revolution, where sustainability and performance increase ove ...

We present an analog silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) based on a standard 55-nm Bipolar-CMOS-DMOS (BCD) technology. The SiPM is composed of 16 x 16 single-photon avalanche diodes (SPADs) and measures 0.29 x 0.32 mm(2). Each SPAD cell is passively quenched by ...

The electronic structures of the iron-based superconductors have been intensively studied by using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES). A considerable amount of research has been focused on the LaFeAsO family, showing the highest transition t ...

A significant effort has recently been initiated at ETHZ for the development of high frequency, high power, frequency-agile gyrotrons for DNP-NMR spectroscopy. In this context an in house cavity interaction code is under development. In this paper, some de ...

The phase diagrams of highly frustrated quantum spin systems can exhibit first-order quantum phase transitions and thermal critical points even in the absence of any long-ranged magnetic order. However, all unbiased numerical techniques for investigating f ...

A measurement of the inclusive jet production in proton-proton collisions at the LHC at root s = 13TeV is presented. The double-differential cross sections are measured as a function of the jet transverse momentum p(T) and the absolute jet rapidity vertica ...

Using recently installed scrape-off layer diagnostics on the tokamak a configuration variable, we characterise the poloidal and parallel properties of turbulent filaments. We access both attached and detached divertor conditions across a wide range of core ...

The production of chi(c1)(3872) and psi(2S) hadrons is studied as a function of charged particle multiplicity in pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2 fb(-1). For both states, the fraction that is ...

We present the first joint analysis of cluster abundances and auto or cross-correlations of three cosmic tracer fields: galaxy density, weak gravitational lensing shear, and cluster density split by optical richness. From a joint analysis (4 x 2pt + N) of ...

The tool of choice to measure optical frequencies with extremely high precision is the optical frequency comb. Camille-Sophie Bres explains what makes this technique so powerful. ...
