Z-Selective synthesis of vinyl boronates is challenging. This work describes Fe-catalyzed addition of alkyl radicals, formed by the corresponding alkyl halides, to ethynyl ethynylboronic acid pinacol ester that gives rise to Z-vinyl boronates in high stere ...

CONSPECTUS: Ligand development plays an essential role in the advance of homogeneous catalysis. Tridentate, meridionally coordinating ligands, commonly termed pincer ligands, have been established as a privileged class of ligands in catalysis because they ...

Detailed understanding of the mechanism of the combustion relevant multichannel reactions of O(P-3) with unsaturated hydrocarbons (UHs) requires the identification of all primary reaction products, the determination of their branching ratios and assessment ...

The hydrolysis of lignocellulose is the first step in saccharide based bio-refining. The recovery of homogeneous acid catalysts imposes great challenges to the feasibility of conventional hydrolysis processes. Herein, we report a strategy to overcome these ...

Electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide, using the electricity generated from renewable energy sources, has the potential of rendering a carbon-neutral energy economy. Developing selective, efficient and robust electrocatalysts is the key step towards ...

Chiral cyclopentadienyl (Cp-x) group 9 metal complexes have become versatile catalysts for a variety of efficient enantioselective C-H functionalizations. Atropchiral binaphthyl-derived Cp-x ligands having tuning options at the 3,3'-positions present a rob ...

We report a ruthenium‐modified zeolite which efficiently transforms propylene carbonate to propylene glycol and methane, under solvent‐free conditions. The catalyst achieved high product selectivity and no significant ageing effect was observed after multi ...

Understanding the structural and compositional sensitivities of the electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) is fundamentally important for developing highly efficient and selective electrocatalysts. Here, we use Ag/Cu nanocrystals to uncover the key ...

Alkyl aryl ethers are an important class of compounds in medicinal and agricultural chemistry. Catalytic C(sp3)−O cross‐coupling of alkyl electrophiles with phenols is an unexplored disconnection strategy to the synthesis of alkyl aryl ethers, with the pot ...

Alkyl amines are an important class of organic compounds in medicinal and materials chemistry. Until now very have been very few methods for the synthesis of alkyl amines by metal‐catalyzed cross‐coupling of alkyl electrophiles with nitrogen nucleophiles. ...

Amines are a quintessential moiety in bioactive molecules, pharmaceuticals and organic materials. Transition-metal-catalysed C–N coupling of aryl electrophiles has been established as a powerful and reliable method for amine synthesis. However, the analogo ...
