The combination of palladium salts and bipyridyl ligands can lead to the formation of a large variety of coordination complexes, with different shapes and sizes, displaying a very versatile host-guest chemistry. Increasing their structural complexity remai ...

Nickel oxide (NiOx) is a promising hole transport material in inverted organic-inorganic metal halide perovskite solar cells. However, its low intrinsic conductivity hinders its further improvement in device performance. Here, we employ a trimercapto-s-tri ...

In the last years, it has been demonstrated a link between the overload of metal ions inside nervous system cells and the onset of severe neurodegenerative diseases. This prompted the investigation of the structural and functional properties of transporter ...

Significant advances have been made in the synthesis of chemically selective environments within metal-organic frameworks, yet materials development and industrial implementation have been hindered by the inability to predictively control crystallite size ...

Active fluids comprise a variety of systems composed of elements immersed in a fluid environment which can convert some form of energy into directed motion; as such they are intrinsically out-of-equilibrium in the absence of any external force. A fundament ...

Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) are an emerging class of materials that consist of metal ions which are linked with organic ligands via coordination bonds to form extended networks. MOF structures consists predominantly of open voids which makes them among ...

Most of our understanding of chemistry derives from atomic-level structures obtained with single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Metal centers in X-ray structures of small organometallic or coordination complexes are often extremely well-defined, with errors in ...

Reproducibility of results is essential for a well-designed and conducted experiment. Several reasons may originate failure in reproducing data, such as selective reporting, low statistical power, or poor analysis. In this study, we used PEG6000 samples fr ...

In this contribution, recent advances in the construction of MOF-polymer composites and their corresponding applications are briefly reviewed. The appearance of such architectures is becoming prominent in recent literature, due to the fact that the union o ...

The inferior power conversion efficiency (PCE) compared to their regular counterparts (n-i-p) and undesirable stability issues of inverted (p-i-n) perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are the foremost issues hindering their commercialization. Here, for the first ...

The structural, thermomechanical, and viscoelastic properties of metallosupramolecular polymers (MSPs) can be controlled through the choice of the multiligand monomer and the nature of the metal salt from which these materials are assembled. This versatili ...

A highly stable nanocomposite of antioxidant activity was developed by immobilization of a superoxide dismutase-mimicking metal complex on copolymer-functionalized nanoclay. The layered double hydroxide (LDH) nanoclays were synthesized and surface modifica ...

Densely substituted fused aromatic triazenes can be prepared by [2 + 2 + 2] cyclotrimerization reactions of 1-alkynyl triazenes. The Cp*Ru-catalyzed cyclization proceeds well with both simple alkynyl triazenes and tethered 1-diynyl triazenes. Attractively, ...

Natural systems have marvelously utilized copper complexes featuring sulfur-coordinating ligands, known as blue copper proteins, as efficient electron-transfer mediators in biological processes. Copper complexes with sulfur-coordinating ligands have been a ...

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are coordination polymer materials in which inorganic metal ions or clusters are linked with multitopic organic ligands by means of coordination bonds. Their structural versatility allows for design of materials based on pre ...

Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) are extended structures composed of a network of organic ligands and metal ions or clusters connected to each other via coordination bonds. The numerous choices of organic ligands and metal coordination geometries have led t ...

Discovery of new chemical reactivity of a given functional group can often result in innovative synthesis of important chemical entities that possess unprecedented properties. We designed and developed a one-step synthesis of 5-amino-4-carboxamidothiazoles ...

Transition metal nanoparticles (NPs) are extensively used as catalysts for a wide and diverse range of organic transformations when immobilized on appropriate solid supports. We describe the development of a highly active and highly selective heterogeneous ...

The displacement of water molecule(s) from the inner coordination sphere of [Gd(DTTA–Me)(H2O)2]− (DTTA = ethylenetriamine-N,N,N″,N″-tetraacetate) by fluoride has been studied by multinuclear NMR relaxation (1H, 17O, 19F) and DFT calculations. Fluoride anio ...

Two new Hg(II) coordination compounds containing the tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine (TPA) ligand were synthesized by conventional and sonochemical methods, characterized by spectroscopic techniques (FT-IR and elemental analysis) and their X-ray crystallographi ...
