Résumé

Two new Hg(II) coordination compounds containing the tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine (TPA) ligand were synthesized by conventional and sonochemical methods, characterized by spectroscopic techniques (FT-IR and elemental analysis) and their X-ray crystallographic structures were determined. The crystal packing and supramolecular features of these coordination compounds were studied using geometrical analysis and Hirshfeld surface analysis. BFDH analysis helps us to compare the predicted morphology with that obtained under ultrasonic irradiation. This study may provide further insight into discovering the role of weak intermolecular interactions in the context of nano-coordination chemistry. (C) 2016 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Crystal engineering

Crystal engineering studies the design and synthesis of solid-state structures with desired properties through deliberate control of intermolecular interactions. It is an interdisciplinary academic field, bridging solid-state and supramolecular chemistry. La cristallographie aux rayons X, radiocristallographie ou diffractométrie de rayons X (DRX, on utilise aussi souvent l'abréviation anglaise XRD pour X-ray diffraction) est une technique d'analyse fondée sur la diffraction des rayons X par la matière, particulièrement quand celle-ci est cristalline. Cette structure est un concept fondamental pour de nombreux domaines de la science et de la technologie.
