In this article, we consider decentralized optimization problems where agents have individual cost functions to minimize subject to subspace constraints that require the minimizers across the network to lie in low-dimensional subspaces. This constrained fo ...

We successfully demonstrate the plasmonic coupling between metal nanoantennas and individual GaAs nanowires (NWs). In particular, by using dark-field scattering and second harmonic excitation spectroscopy in partnership with analytical and full-vector FDTD ...

Physical properties of surfaces are extremely important for initiation and nucleation of crystal growth, including nanowires. In recent years, fluctuations in surface characteristics have often been related to unreproducible growth of GaAs nanowires on Si ...

The Bio Image and Signal Processing (BISP) Technical Committee (TC) of the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) promotes activities within the broad technical field of biomedical image and signal processing. Areas of interest include medical and biological ...

Semiconductor nanowire arrays are reproducible and rational platforms for the realization of high performing designs of light emitting diodes and photovoltaic devices. In this paper we present an overview of the growth challenges of III-V nanowire arrays o ...

This paper presents a broadband dual-polarized substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) slot antenna. It is analytically shown that by decreasing the permittivity of a dielectricloaded slot antenna, the resulting bandwidth increases significantly, where the wi ...

Barium titanate is a promising candidate for integrated photonic application due to its high electro-optic coefficient; therefore the need arises for a suitable deposition technique which provides high film quality at low temperatures (below 500 degrees C) ...

Inertial measurement unit (IMU) sensors are widely used for motion analysis in sports and rehabilitation. The attachment of IMU sensors to predefined body segments and sides (left/right) is complex, time-consuming, and error-prone. Methods for solving the ...

Cavity quantum electrodynamics encompasses the study and control of the interactions between quantum light sources and resonant modes of optical cavities. The subject of this thesis is cavity quantum electrodynamics with semiconductor quantum dots (QDs), w ...
