Résumé

The Bio Image and Signal Processing (BISP) Technical Committee (TC) of the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) promotes activities within the broad technical field of biomedical image and signal processing. Areas of interest include medical and biological imaging, digital pathology, molecular imaging, microscopy, and associated computational imaging, image analysis, and image-guided treatment, alongside physiological signal processing, computational biology, and bioinformatics.

Digital pathology

Digital pathology is a sub-field of pathology that focuses on data management based on information generated from digitized specimen slides. Through the use of computer-based technology, digital pathology utilizes virtual microscopy. Glass slides are converted into digital slides that can be viewed, managed, shared and analyzed on a computer monitor.

Pathologie

La pathologie est la science qui a pour objet l'étude des maladies, notamment de leurs causes (étiologie) et de leurs mécanismes (physiopathologie). La nosologie, quant à elle, a pour objet la classification des maladies. La pathologie cardiaque est ainsi l'étude des maladies du cœur. L'anatomopathologie, anatomo-pathologie ou anatomie pathologique, informellement abrégée en « anat-patho » ou « anapath » dans le jargon des professionnels de la santé, est une spécialité médicale humaine et vétérinaire. C'est la partie de la pathologie consacrée à l'étude morphologique des anomalies macroscopiques et microscopiques des tissus biologiques et des cellules pathologiques prélevés sur un être vivant ou mort. Le médecin ou le vétérinaire spécialisé en anatomopathologie est appelé anatomopathologiste, ou pathologiste.
