This article presents an overview of our research in the field of colloidal nanocrystal synthesis and their implementation into water splitting and CO2 reduction electrochemical cells. We discuss our approaches to tailormade novel material platforms to adv ...

Engineering physicochemical properties of two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenide (2D-TMD) materials by surface manipulation is essential to enabling their practical and large-scale application. This is especially challenging for colloidal 2D-TMDs ...

The present invention relates to a method for producing core-shell nanocrystals consisting of a metal-containing nanocrystal core and a shell layer comprising at least one metal oxide material having variable shell thicknesses, and use of the core-shell na ...

New ternary and higher order inorganic materials are needed for a large variety of applications, yet their synthesis still represents a chemistry challenge. Herein, we focus on the synthesis of Cu-M-S nanocrystals (where M = V, Cr, Mn) via a wet-chemistry ...

The ability to precisely design colloidal nanocrystals (NCs) has far-reaching implications in optoelectronics, catalysis, biomedicine, and beyond. Achieving such control is generally based on a trial-and-error approach. Data-driven synthesis holds promise ...

Copper vanadates have been proposed as promising photoanodes for water-splitting photoelectrochemical cells, but their performance has recently been shown to be severely limited. To understand this behavior, we study the electronic structure and the optica ...
