Two dicopper (II) complexes of general formula CuLX2 {L = 2, 5-diphenyl-3, 4(2-pyridyl) cyclopenta-2, 4-dien-1-one, X = Cl (1) or Br (2)} have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV-Vis spectroscopic methods. The crystal stru ...

The isomerization of iridium(III) complexes with metalated N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands was studied. The fac isomers of complexes with 1-phenyl-3-methylbenzimidazolin-2-ylidene or 1-phenyl-3-benzylbenzimidazolin-2-ylidene ligands are transformed cl ...

Among the 14 lanthanide elements (Ce-Lu), until recently, the tetravalent oxidation state was readily accessible in solution only for cerium while Pr(iv), Nd(iv), Dy(iv) and Tb(iv) had only been detected in the solid state. The triphenylsiloxide ligand rec ...

The aggregation-induced emission properties of tetraarylethenes (TAEs) have led to numerous applications in chemistry, biology, and materials science. Herein, we describe two fluorinated tetraarylethenes, which can be employed as universal tags for the syn ...

Molecular cages with arylboronate ester caps at the vertices are described. The cages were obtained by metal-templated polycondensation reactions of a tris(2-formylpyridine oxime) ligand with arylboronic acids. Suited templates are triflate or triflimide s ...

Hybrid perovskite solar cells have attracted tremendous interest in the photovoltaic community. Despite their high defect tolerance, reducing the trap density by material engineering and surface modification is still critical to further boost performance. ...

A single-site Fe(III) carboxamide complex, [Fe(HbpH) (Cl)2] (1), (HbpH = N,N '-Bis(picolinoyl)hydrazine) anion), was synthesized and used as the electrocatalyst of water oxidation reaction. Complex 1 catalyzes the oxidation of water to O2 at the pH of 8 in ...

The introduction of two nucleophiles in the vicinal position of arenes via Sandmeyer‐type reactions is compromised by the problematic diazotization of ortho‐diaminoarenes. Herein, it is shown that vicinal substitution reactions are facilitated by the use ...

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are among the most promising photovoltaic technologies owing to their exceptional optoelectronic properties 1,2 . However, the lower efficiency, poor stability and reproducibility issues of large-area PSCs compared with labora ...

Thirteen palladium-ligand assemblies with different structures and topologies were investigated for the ability to bind lithium ions. In one case, the addition of LiBF4 resulted in a profound structural rearrangement, converting a dincluclear [Pd2L4]2 comp ...

Rigidtritopic linkers of different sizes were used to buildporous U-(IV) and Th-(IV) 3D frameworks. The charge of the polymerscould be tuned by reaction conditions such as the temperature, pH,solvent, ligand, or metal precursor, yielding a series of neutra ...

Solid-state proton conductors based on the use of metal-organic framework (MOF) materials as proton exchange membranes are being investigated as alternatives to the current state of the art. This study reports a new family of proton conductors based on MIL ...

Dinitrogen cleavage provides an attractive but poorly studied route to the assembly of multimetallic nitride clusters. Here, we show that the monoelectron reduction of the dinitrogen complex [{U(OC6H2-Bu-3(t)-2,4,6)(3)}(2)(mu-eta(2):eta(2)-N-2)], 1, allows ...

Nature carefully selects specific metal ions for incorporation into the enzymes that catalyse the chemical reactions necessary for life. Hydrogenases, enzymes that activate molecular H-2, exclusively utilize Ni and Fe in [NiFe]-, [FeFe]- and [Fe]-hydrogean ...

Water splitting is a promising approach for storing intermittent renewable energies, such as sunlight in the clean chemical bonds as a hydrogen fuel. Two water-soluble octahedral cobalt (III) complexes, [Co(bpb)(OAc)(H2O)], 1, (bpb(2-) = N,N' -bis[(2-pyrid ...

Two N,N-bis(diphenylphosphino)-amine ligands [amine = 4-aminomorpholine (L-1) or 1-amino-4-methylpiperazine (L-2)] and their Pd(II) complexes were synthesised and characterised by IR and NMR spectroscopies. The structures of ligand L-1 and both complexes C ...

Various approaches have been employed to passivate the defects in perovskite films used in perovskite solar cells (PSCs). However, the passivation mechanism is often unclear at a molecular level, and the reason for enhanced PSC performance often remains el ...

Clathrochelate complexes of cobalt are known in the oxidation states I, II, and III. Low-valent Co(I) complexes are highly reactive compounds, and there is only limited knowledge about their structures in the solid state. Herein, we describe the crystallog ...

The combination of tripyridyl ligands and linear diboronate esters results in the formation of oligomeric or polymeric adducts featuring dative boron−nitrogen bonds. The relative orientation of the two different building blocks in the assemblies can be pre ...

First synthesized in 1991, EthynylBenziodoXolones (EBXs) - cyclic hypervalent iodine reagents derived from 2-iodobenzoic acid - are now among the most versatile electrophilic alkynylation reagents. Due to their cyclic structure, these reagents exhibit enha ...
