Mass determinations from gravitational lensing shear and the higher order estimator flexion are both subject to the mass-sheet degeneracy. Mass sheet degeneracy refers to a transformation that leaves the reduced shear and flexion invariant. In general, thi ...

We explore how assuming that mass traces light in strong gravitational lensing models can lead to systematic errors in the predicted position of multiple images. Using a model based on the galaxy cluster MACS J0416 (z = 0.397) from the Hubble Frontier Fiel ...

We perform a multitracer analysis using the complete Sloan Digital Sky Survey IV (SDSS-IV) extended Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (eBOSS) DR16 luminous red galaxy (LRG) and the DR16 emission-line galaxy (ELG) samples in the configuration space, a ...

We present a sample of 12 quasi-stellar objects (QSOs) that potentially act as strong gravitational lenses on background emission line galaxies (ELG) or Lyman-alpha emitters (LAEs) selected through a systematic search of the 297 301 QSOs in the Sloan Digit ...

We present an overview of the 4MOST project at the Preliminary Design Review. 4MOST is a major new wide-field, high-multiplex spectroscopic survey facility under development for the VISTA telescope of ESO. 4MOST has a broad range of science goals ranging f ...

We present the results of a continuing survey to detect Ly alpha emitting galaxies at redshifts z similar to 9: the z equals nine' (ZEN) survey. We have obtained deep VLT Infrared Spectrometer and Array Camera observations in the narrow J-band filter NB119 ...

Aims. With the next generation of large surveys poised to join the ranks of observational cosmology in the near future, it is important to explore their potential synergies and to maximize their scientific outcomes. In this study, we aim to investigate the ...

With the growing complexity of systems across diverse domains, key challenges emerge in simultaneously designing networks and their underlying infrastructure, requiring resolution at concept stage. In space mission design, technological advancements and am ...

We present the clustering of voids based on the quasar (QSO) sample of the extended Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey Data Release 16 in configuration space. We define voids as overlapping empty circumspheres computed by Delaunay tetrahedra spanned b ...

We have observed four massive galaxy clusters with the SPIRE instrument on the Herschel Space Observatory and measure a deficit of surface brightness within their central region after removing detected sources. We simulate the effects of instrumental sensi ...

Based on weak lensing data from the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope Lensing Survey (CFHTLenS), in this paper we study the mass-concentration (M-c) relation for similar to 200 redMaPPer clusters in the fields. We extract the M-c relation by measuring the den ...

This paper documents the 16th data release (DR16) from the Sloan Digital Sky Surveys (SDSS), the fourth and penultimate from the fourth phase (SDSS-IV). This is the first release of data from the Southern Hemisphere survey of the Apache Point Observatory G ...

Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) uses more than 2.4 million Emission Line Galaxies (ELGs) for 3D large-scale structure (LSS) analyses in its Data Release 1 (DR1). Such large statistics enable thorough research on systematic uncertainties. In thi ...

We present an axially symmetric formula to calculate the probability of finding gravitational arcs in galaxy clusters, being induced by their massive dark matter haloes, as a function of clusters redshifts and virial masses. The formula includes the ellipt ...

Astrobots are robotic artifacts whose swarms are used in astrophysical studies to generate the map of the observable universe. These swarms have to be coordinated with respect to various desired observations. Such coordination\footnote{\z{A coordination sa ...

MegaMapper is a 6.5m Magellan-like telescope fitted with a wide-field-corrector (WFC) and atmospheric-dispersion-corrector (ADC) that delivers a 3. diameter corrected field-of-view. The telescope's focal surface is populated by similar to 25, 000 robotic f ...

Cosmic voids defined as a subset of Delaunay triangulation (DT) circumspheres have been used to measure the baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO) scale; providing tighter constraints on cosmological parameters when combined with matter tracers. These voids ar ...

Next generation massive spectroscopic survey projects have to process a massive amount of targets. The preparation of subsequent observations should be feasible in a reasonable amount of time. We present a fast algorithm for target assignment that scales a ...

Classification of intermediate redshift (z = 0.3-0.8) emission line galaxies as star-forming galaxies, composite galaxies, active galactic nuclei (AGNs), or low-ionization nuclear emission regions (LINERs) using optical spectra alone was impossible because ...

We present Submillimeter Array [ C II] 158 mu m and Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (CO)-C-12(1-0) line emission maps for the bright, lensed, submillimeter source at z = 5.2430 behind A 773: HLSJ091828.6+514223 (HLS0918). We combine these measurements with ...
