Aims. We present in this letter the first analysis of a: 8 galaxy candidate found in the Hubble and Spitzer imaging data of Abell 2744 as part of the Hubble Frontier Fields legacy program. Methods. We applied the most commonly used methods to select except ...

We present a weak lensing mass map covering similar to 124 deg(2) of the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope Stripe 82 Survey (CS82). We study the statistics of rare peaks in the map, including peak abundance, the peak-peak correlation functions and the tangent ...

We report the discovery of a gravitationally lensed hyperluminous infrared galaxy (intrinsic L-IR approximate to 10(13) L-circle dot) with strong radio emission (intrinsic L-1.4 GHz approximate to 10(25) WHz(-1)) at z = 2.553. The source was identified in ...

The current standard model of cosmology successfully describes a variety of measurements, but the nature of its main ingredients, dark matter and dark energy, remains unknown. Euclid is a medium-class mission in the Cosmic Vision 2015–2025 programme of the ...

The rapid growth in satellite deployments, particularly with the emergence of large constellations, has amplified concerns over the sustainability of the orbital environment. Space mission operators can utilize different mechanisms during the design and op ...

The Bluebild algorithm is a new technique for image synthesis in radio astronomy which decomposes the sky into distinct energy levels using functional principal component analysis. These levels can be linearly combined to construct a least-squares estimate ...

We present clustering redshift measurements for Dark Energy Survey (DES) lens sample galaxies used in weak gravitational lensing and galaxy clustering studies. To perform these measurements, we cross-correlate with spectroscopic galaxies from the Baryon Ac ...

We present a gravitational lensing and X-ray analysis of a massive galaxy cluster and its surroundings. The core of MACS J0717.5+3745 (M(R < 1Mpc) similar to 2 x 10(15) M-circle dot, z = 0.54) is already known to contain four merging components. We show th ...

The data throughput of massive spectroscopic surveys in the course of each observation is directly coordinated with the number of optical fibers which reach their target. In this paper, we evaluate the safety and the performance of the astrobots coordinati ...

We report on the galaxy MACSJ0032-arc at z(CO) = 3.6314 discovered during the Herschel Lensing snapshot Survey of massive galaxy clusters, and strongly lensed by the cluster MACSJ0032.1+1808. The successful detections of its rest-frame ultraviolet (UV), op ...

With the upcoming generation of telescopes, cluster scale strong gravitational lenses will act as an increasingly relevant probe of cosmology and dark matter. The better resolved data produced by current and future facilities requires faster and more effic ...

Deep learning (DL) has recently been proposed as a novel approach for 21cm foreground removal. Before applying DL to real observations, it is essential to assess its consistency with established methods, its performance across various simulation models, an ...

Aims. We present a ground-based, near-infrared search for lensed supernovae behind the massive cluster Abell 1689 at z = 0.18, which is one of the most powerful gravitational telescopes that nature provides. Methods. Our survey was based on multi-epoch J-b ...

We derived constraints on cosmological parameters using weak lensing peak statistics measured on the similar to aEuro parts per thousand 130 deg(2) of the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope Stripe 82 Survey. This analysis demonstrates the feasibility of using ...

Aims. We present a new strong lensing mass reconstruction of the Bullet cluster (1E 0657-56) at z = 0 : 296, based on WFC3 and ACS HST imaging and VLT/FORS2 spectroscopy. The strong lensing constraints underwent substantial revision compared to previously ...

A striking signal of dark matter beyond the standard model is the existence of cores in the centre of galaxy clusters. Recent simulations predict that a brightest cluster galaxy ( BCG) inside a cored galaxy cluster will exhibit residual wobbling due to pre ...

Context. The study of asteroids, particularly near-Earth asteroids, is key to gaining insights into our Solar System and can help prevent dangerous collisions. Beyond finding new objects, additional observations of known asteroids will improve our knowledg ...

Radio relics are Mpc-scale diffuse radio sources at the peripheries of galaxy clusters which are thought to trace outgoing merger shocks. We present XMM-Newton and Suzaku observations of the galaxy cluster Abell 2744 (z = 0.306), which reveal the presence ...

With the largest spectroscopic galaxy survey volume drawn from the SDSS-III Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (BOSS), we can extract cosmological constraints from the measurements of redshift and geometric distortions at quasi-linear scales (e.g. abo ...

The proliferation of debris in the space environment, congesting the Low Earth Orbit (LEO), constitutes a major challenge to the safety and sustainability of space missions and operations. Policy makers at the national, regional and international levels ar ...
