Large-scale deployment of thin-film photovoltaics will be facilitatedthrough earth-abundant components. Herein, selective area epitaxyand lateral overgrowth epitaxy are explored for the growth of zincphosphide (Zn3P2), a promising earth-abundant absorber. ...

We investigate single CoFeB nanotubes with hexagonal cross section using dynamic cantilever magnetometry (DCM). We develop both an analytical model based on the Stoner-Wohlfarth approximation and a broadly applicable numerical framework for analyzing DCM m ...

Nanoscale magnets might form the building blocks of next generation memories. To explore their functionality, magnetic sensing at the nanoscale is key. We present a multifunctional combination of a nanometer-sized superconducting quantum interference devic ...

Raw data associated with the publication "Heterotwin Zn3P2 superlattice nanowires: the role of indium insertion in the superlattice formation mechanism and their optical properties", published in Nanoscale on the 22nd October 2020. ...

Quantum-dot-in-nanowire systems constitute building blocks for advanced photonics and sensing applications. The electronic symmetry of the emitters impacts their function capabilities. Here we study the fine structure of gallium-rich quantum dots nested in ...

We demonstrate the growth of defect-free zinc-blende GaAs nanomembranes by molecular beam epitaxy. Our growth studies indicate a strong impact of As-4 re-emission and shadowing in the growth rate of the structures. The highest aspect ratio structures are o ...

Recent experimental and theoretical work has focused on ferromagnetic nanotubes due to their potential applications as magnetic sensors or as elements in high-density magnetic memory. The possible presence of magnetic vortex states-states which produce no ...

In this paper we introduce a new paradigm for nanowire growth that explains the unwanted appearance of parasitic nonvertical nanowires. With a crystal structure polarization analysis of the initial stages of GaAs nanowire growth on Si substrates, we demons ...

Controlling the growth direction of nanowires is of strategic importance both for applications where nanowire arrays are contacted in parallel and for the formation of more complex nanowire networks. We report on the existence of tilted InAs nanowires on ( ...
