Three-coil inductive power transfer is the state-of-the-art solution to power multiple miniaturised neural implants. However, the maximum delivered power is limited by the efficiency of the powering link and safety constrains. Here we propose a frequency-s ...

This work presents the design and the realization of a flexible front-end circuitry for electrochemical sensing with wearable devices. The hardware combines readout circuitry for amperometric and Open Circuit Potential (OCP) measurements. The sensing platf ...

In the era of precision medicine, there is increasing evidence that conventional cytotoxic agents may be suitable candidates for therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM)- guided drug dosage adjustments and patient's tailored personalization of non-selective chemo ...

Carbon nanotubes have been attracting a lot of interest as electron transfer mediators to enhance electrochemical biosensing. The main reason behind this is usually recognized in terms of augmented electrochemical active surface area. The aim of this paper ...

This paper systematically demonstrates the feasibility of wirelessly monitoring dopamine concentration in the brain with an implantable biosensor. The biosensor was realized using microwires, and then, the dopamine concentration was measured in-vitro rangi ...

We present the very first worldwide ever-reported electrochemical biosensor based on a memristive effect and DNA aptamers. This novel device is developed to propose a completely new approach in cancer diagnostics. In this study, an affinity-based technique ...

Memristive devices have the potential for a complete renewal of the electron devices landscape, including memory, logic and sensing applications. This is especially true when considering that the memristive functionality is not limited to two-terminal devi ...

In this article, we explore adaptive global and local segmentation techniques for a lab-on-chip nutrition monitoring system (NutriChip). The experimental setup consists of Caco-2 intestinal cells that can be artificially stimulated to trigger an immune res ...

The direct electrochemical behaviour of bilirubin in the physio-pathological concentration range and at physio- logical pH was investigated by cyclic voltammetry. Nanostructured electrodes with a thin film of multi-walled carbon nanotubes exhibited a highe ...

Induction of anesthesia with propofol is a largely adopted technique in hospital environments. The correct dosage of this compound is essential to avoid under- or over-anesthesia that may result in serious side-effects. Therefore, in clinical settings, lon ...

We present newly developed electrochemical sensors based on screen-printed carbon electrodes functionalized with HO-BiONO3, polyethylene glycol coated HO-BiONO3, and Bi-5 O-7 NO3. The performance of these sensors has been studied by cyclic voltammetry expe ...

The Voltammetry-Based Sensing (VBS) methods are extremely interesting due to high specificity in several biochemical applications. Several considerations can be applied to use this method to measure different analytes, and implement efficient and optimized ...

Nanostructured materials have attracted considerable interest over the last few decades to enhance sensing capabilities thanks to their unique properties and large surface area. In particular, noble metal nanostructures offer several advantages including h ...

Unexplored electrochemical behavior of abiraterone, a recent and widely used prostate cancer drug, in interaction with cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) enzyme and multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) is investigated in this work. The results reported in this ...

This review presents recent advances in Au and Pt nanostructured-based electrochemical biosensors belonging to the third generation. We will list different routes to modify electrodes with Au and Pt nanoparticles and nanoporous films in more detail. Also, ...

Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS)-based microanalysis involves a wide variety of devices, technologies, methods, and approaches, as extensively detailed in scientific literature. For example, we can find the use of CMOS- in investigations on p ...

New advancements in the management of type I diabetic patients (T1DM) call for a new generation of monitoring systems based upon an array of metabolic biosensors including sensors for insulin detection. Blood insulin values are always less than 270 pM; the ...

The objective of this work is the systematic study of the use of electrochemical readout for advanced diagnosis and drug monitoring. Whereas to date various electrochemical principles have been studied and successfully tested, they typically operate on a s ...

A novel system for remote monitoring of metabolism in an animal model is proposed in this paper. The system is obtained by integrating bio-nano-sensors to detect single- metabolites, an electrochemical front-end made with off-the-shelf components, a radio ...

Multi-target and continuous monitoring by wireless implantable devices is of increasing interest for personalized therapy. In this work an implantable system is presented which is capable of measuring different drugs with Cyclic Voltammetry (CV) method. Th ...
