Most quantum algorithms assume some specific initial state in superposition of basis states before performing the desired application-specific computations. The preparation of such states itself requires a computation performed by a quantum circuit. In thi ...

Recently, it was demonstrated that the polarity of carbon nanotube field effect transistors can be electrically controlled. In this paper we show how Programmable Logic Arrays (PLA) can be built out of these devices, and we illustrate how they outperform u ...

In this paper, we introduce the different modes of operation achievable with Three-Independent-Gate Field-Effect Transistors (TIGFETs) and report results on fabricated devices including: (i) the dynamic reconfiguration of the device polarity; (ii) t ...

Multi-Processor Systems-on-Chip (MPSoCs) are penetrating the electronics market as a powerful, yet commercially viable, solution to answer the strong and steadily growing demand for scalable and high performance systems, at limited design complexity. Howev ...

3-D integration is a promising prospect for implementing high performance multifunctional systems-on- chip. Through Silicon Vias (TSVs) are the enablers for achieving high bandwidth paths in inter-plane communications. TSVs also provide higher vertical lin ...

Quantum oracle synthesis involves compiling arbitrary Boolean functions into quantum circuits using specific quantum gates supported by the target quantum computer. The Clifford+T gate library is particularly common in fault-tolerant quantum computing syst ...

The total power budget of Ultra-Low Power (ULP) VLSI Systems-on-Chip (SoCs) is often dominated by the leakage power of embedded memories as well as status registers. On the one hand, supply voltage scaling down to the near-threshold (near-VT

Variability analysis of nanoscale transistors and circuits is emerging as a necessity at advanced technology nodes. Technology Computer Aided Design (TCAD) tools are powerful ways to get an accurate insight of Process Variations (PV). However ...

A fully CMOS compatible fabrication flow using low temperature a-Si LPCVD and stencil lithography has been developed and proved suitable for SiNW FinFETs having ambipolar conductance. The stencil mask has been demonstrated to be a real option for sub-micro ...

Given (i) a Boolean function, (ii) a set of arrival times at the inputs, and (iii) a gate library with associated delay values, the exact delay synthesis problem asks for a circuit implementation which minimizes the arrival time at the output(s). The exact ...

Nowadays, power consumption is one of the main limitations of electronic systems. In this context, novel and emerging devices provide us with new opportunities to keep the trend to low-power design. In this survey paper, we present a transversal survey on ...

The prospective of practical quantum computers has lead researchers to investigate automatic tools to program them. A quantum program is modeled as a Clifford+T quantum circuit that needs to be optimized in order to comply with quantum technology constrain ...

Garbled circuit (GC)-based frameworks are the cornerstone of advanced secure multi-party computation (MPC) protocols in various domains. These applications, such as secure network inference, require both scalability and real-time computation. However, the ...

Static Random Access Memory (SRAM)-based routing multiplexers, whatever structure is employed, share a common limitation: their area, delay and power increase linearly with the input size. This property results in most SRAM-based FPGA architectures ...

We propose a flow for automated quantum compila- tion. Our flow takes a Boolean function implemented in Python as input and translates it into a format appropriate for reversible logic synthesis. We focus on two quantum compilation tasks: uniform state pre ...

In this work, a complete study is carried out for the optimised, direct and catalyst-free growth of vertically-stacked graphene-based structures targeting at improved performance drug monitoring. The nanostructures, ultimately forming a honeycomb network o ...

Majority logic is a powerful generalization of common AND/OR logic. Original two-level and multi-level logic networks can use majority operators as primitive connective, in place of AND/ORs. In such a way, Boolean functions have novel means for compact rep ...

In this letter, we report on the fabrication and characterization of ambipolar silicon-nanowire (SiNW) field-effect transistors (FETs) with a double-independent-gate (DIG) structure for polarity control. Several structures are fabricated, showing the effec ...

Cyber-medical systems will produce a major revolution in health care, by both raising the quality of care and reducing its cost, thus reaching an important social and economic goal. The evolution of electronic devices and systems has already enabled societ ...

Bettering human health care and creating a sustainable environment through monitoring and smart energy usage are primary goals of advanced societies. To this purpose, the Swiss Government, through the State Secretariat for Education, Research, and Innovati ...
