The lack of long-term stability and reproducibility of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is the main roadblock preventing their successful commercialization. 3D/2D PSCs are one of the most prominent ways to address these issues. Various salts that are mostly b ...

We report a ruthenium‐modified zeolite which efficiently transforms propylene carbonate to propylene glycol and methane, under solvent‐free conditions. The catalyst achieved high product selectivity and no significant ageing effect was observed after multi ...

Catalytic hydrogenations are important and widely applied processes for the reduction of organic compounds both in academic laboratories and in industry. To perform these reactions in sustainable and practical manner, the development and applicability of n ...

Nanoscale secondary ion mass spectrometry (NanoSIMS) combined with transmission electron microscopy (TEM) can be a powerful approach to visualize the exact distribution of drugs at the sub-cellular level. In this work, we exploit this approach to identify ...

New half-sandwich R-II-[9]aneS(3) complexes ([9]aneS(3) = 1,4,7-trithiacyclononane), namely [RuCl2(PTA)([9]aneS(3))] (4), [RuCl(PTA)(2)([9]aneS(3))][OTf] (5), [RuCl(en)([9]aneS(3))][OTf] (6), [RuCl(enac)([9]aneS(3))][OTf] (7), [RuCl(bipy)([9]ane-S-3)][OTf] ...

The neutral dinuclear complexes [(eta(5)-C5Me5)(2)Rh-2(mu-dhnq)Cl-2] (1) and [(eta(5)-C5Me5)(2)Ir-2(mu-dhnq)Cl-2] (2) (dhnqH(2) = 5,8-dihydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone) were obtained from the reaction of (eta(5)-C5Me5)M(mu-Cl)Cl (M = Rh, Ir) with dhnqH(2) ...

Biochar-based phase change materials (PCMs) are suitable for energy conservation to regulate the environment of greenhouses, but would benefit from higher specific surface area biochar to increase the polyethylene glycol (PEG) loading and enhanced thermal ...

The chemical transformation of CO2 and bicarbonates into useful products becomes increasingly impor- tant as the atmospheric CO2 level has reached 400 ppm. Here a small library of sulfonated aryl mono- phosphines and aryl diphosphines was tested as stabili ...

Treatment of the known half-sandwich complexes of the type [(eta(6)-C6H6)RuCl2(P(OR)(3))] (R = Me or Ph) with SnCl2 yielded three new half-sandwich ruthenium complexes (C1-C3): [(eta(6)-C6H6)RuCl(SnCl3)(P(OMe)(3))] (C1), [(eta(6)-C6H6)RuCl(SnCl3)(P(OPh)(3) ...

The clinical development of anticancer metallodrugs is often hindered by the elusive nature of their molecular targets. To identify the molecular targets of an antimetastatic ruthenium organometallic complex based on 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane (RAPTA ...

Pd nanoparticles (NPs) with a small size and narrow size distribution were prepared from the decomposition of Pd(OAc)(2) in a series of hydroxyl-functionalized ionic liquids (ILs) comprising the 1-(2'-hydroxylethyl)-3-methylimidazolium cation and various a ...

Gold nanoparticles (NPs) stabilized by carboxylate modified polyvinylpyrrolidone have been prepared and fully characterized. The gold NPs efficiently catalyze the aerobic oxidation of benzyl alcohol in water at ambient temperature and are easily separated ...

A series of organometallic compds. of general formula [(arene)M(PTA)nXm]Y (arene = η6-C10H14, η-C5Me5); (M = Ru(II), Os(II), Rh(III) and Ir(III); X = Cl, mPTA; Y = OTf, PF6) have been screened for their cytotoxicity and ability to inhibit cathepsin B in vi ...

Mass spectrometry imaging is being increasingly used in metal-based anticancer drug development to study elemental and/or molecular drug distributions in different biological systems. The main analytical tools employed are SIMS (especially nanoSIMS), LA-IC ...

Advances in treatment strategies together with an earlier diagnosis have considerably increased the average survival of cancer patients over the last four decades. Nevertheless, despite the growing number of new antineoplastic agents introduced each year, ...

There is a growing interest in sustainable heterogeneous catalysts based on organic polymers. Here, we describe a series of polyimidazolium salt catalysts, prepared from the direct reaction of arene- bridged bis- and tris-alkyl halides with trimethylsilyli ...

Despite recent progress in the chemistry of frustrated Lewis pairs (FLPs), direct FLP-catalyzed hydrogenation of CO2 remains elusive. From a near-infinite array of plausible Lewis pairs, it is challenging to identify individual combinations that are approp ...

The reactions of the dimeric complexes RuX2(eta(6)-p-cymene) (X = Br, I, SCN) with L-proline (ProH) and trans-4- hydroxy-L-proline (HypH), in methanol in the presence of NaOH, afforded [RuX(kappa N-2,O-Pro)(eta(6)-p-cymene)] (X = Br, 1b; I, 1c; SCN, 1 ...

Square planar gold(iii) complexes that contain functionalised bipyridine ligands of general formula [Au(NN)Cl2][PF6] [where NN = 2,2'-bipyridine, 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine, 4,4'-dimethoxy-2,2'-bipyridine and 4,4'-diamino-2,2'-bipyridine] have been prep ...

Catalytic lignosulfonate valorization is hampered by the in situ liberation of sulfur that ultimately poisons the catalyst. To overcome this limitation, metal sulfide catalysts were developed that are able to cleave the C-O bonds of lignosulfonate and are ...
