One of the limiting factors to a hydrogen-based economy is associated with the problems storing hydrogen. Many different approaches are under evaluation and the optimum approach will not be the same for all applications, i.e., static, mobile, small and lar ...

The use of formic acid as a hydrogen-storage material has become more feasible thanks to the development of a homogeneous catalytic system of ruthenium water-soluble complexes (Ru/TPPTS; TPPTS=meta-trisulfonated triphenylphosphine) that selectively decompo ...

In recent years, core-shell nano-catalysts have received increasing attention due to their tunable properties and broad applications in catalysis. Control of the two components of these materials allows their catalytic properties to be tuned to various sus ...

With a view to develop drugs that could resist hydrolysis in aq. media, organometallic arene-capped ruthenium(II) 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphatricyclo[3.3.1.1]decane (RAPTA) complexes bearing chelating carboxylate ligands have been prepd. and studied. The new com ...

Cancer is currently one of the deadliest diseases worldwide. Based on the high incidence of this disease, the side effects associated with current chemotherapies and the appearance of drug resistance, considerable efforts have been directed towards the dev ...

Human pleural mesothelioma is an incurable and chemoresistant cancer. Using a nude mouse xenograft model of human pleural mesothelioma, we show that RAPTA-T, a compound undergoing preclinical evaluation, enhances tumor vascular function by decreasing blood ...

The transformation of lignin-derived phenolic compds. to alkanes was achieved using catalysts based on Bronsted acidic ionic liqs. (ILs). The catalytic system is composed of metal nanoparticles (NPs) and a functionalized Bronsted acidic IL immobilized in a ...

Surface passivation with 2D perovskites is a powerful strategy to achieve improved stability and performance in perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Various large organic cations have been successfully implemented, led by phenylethylammonium (PEA+) and its deriv ...

N-methylation of amines is an important step in the synthesis of many pharmaceuticals and has been widely applied in the preparation of other key intermediates and chemicals. Therefore, the development of efficient methylation methods has attracted conside ...

Structural and electronic factors are crucial to rationalizethedifferent N,O or N,N chelating coordination of pyrazolones containinga pyridine ring. The reactivity of proligand 3-phenyl-1-(pyridin-2-yl)-5-pyrazolone(HLpy,ph) with the (arene)Ru(II) fragment ...

Two-step functionalization of 4-diphenylphosphino benzoic acid with biotin afforded 2-(biotinyloxy)ethyl 4-(diphenylphosphanyl)benzoate (LP), that was subsequently used to synthesize the Ru(II) arene complexes [RuCl2(eta(6)-p-cymene)(LP)] (1), [Ru(C2O4)(et ...

New triruthenium-carbonyl clusters derivatized with glucose-modified bicyclophosphite ligands have been synthesized. These compounds were found to have cytostatic and cytotoxic activity and depending on the number of bicyclophosphite ligands, and could be ...
