One of the leading approaches to enhancing the performance and stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) involves passivating the perovskite surface and grain boundaries with large ammonium salts. Here, we report the synthesis of furan-, thiophene-, and s ...

We describe a catalytic system composed of rhodium nanoparticles immobilized in a Lewis acidic ionic liquid. The combined system catalyzes the hydrogenation of quinolines, pyridines, benzofurans, and furan to access the corresponding heterocycles, importan ...

Platinum -based anticancer drugs, while potent, are associated with numerous and severe side effects. Hyperthermia therapy is an effective adjuvant in anticancer treatment, however, clinically used platinum drugs have not been optimised for combination wit ...

Protein crystallography and biochemical assays reveal that the organometallic drug, [Ru(eta(6)-p-cymene)Cl-2(pta)] (RAPTA-C), preferentially binds to nucleosomal histone proteins in chromatin. To better understand the binding mechanism we report here a mas ...

Pristine multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWNT) films have a range of important applications. Currently, vacuum filtration is the main method used to prepare MWNT films, which limits their large-scale production. Solvent evaporation is an alternative method us ...

D. functional theory methods in combination with vibrational spectroscopy are used to investigate possible variants of mol. structure of the ion pairs of several imidazolium-based ionic liqs. (ILs). Multiple stable structures are detd. with the anion posit ...

The self-assembly of 2,4,6-tris(pyridin-4-yl)-1,3,5-triazine (tpt) triangular panels with p-cymene (p-PriC6H4Me) ruthenium building blocks and 2,5-dioxydo-1,4-benzoquinonato (dobq) bridges, in the presence of a functionalized pyrenyl deriv. (pyrene-R), aff ...

The antitumor activity of the organometallic ruthenium(II)-arene mixed phosphine complexes, [Ru(h6-p-cymene)Cl(PTA)(PPh3)]BF4 1b and [Ru(h6-C6H5CH2CH2OH)Cl(PTA)(PPh3)]BF4 2b (PTA = 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane), have been evaluated in vitro and compare ...

Mass spectrometry (MS) has emerged as an important tool for studying anticancer metallodrugs in complex biological samples and for characterising their interactions with biomolecules and potential targets on a molecular level. The exact modes-of-action of ...

Functionalized imidazolium iodide salts (ionic liquids) modified with -CH2-CH=CH2, -CH2C equivalent to CH, or -CH2C equivalent to N groups are applied as dopants in the synthesis of CH3NH3PbI3-type perovskites together with a fumigation step. Notably, a so ...

The water soluble ruthenium(II) complex [RuCl2(PTA)([9]aneS3)] (PTA = 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphadamantane, [9]aneS3 = 1,4,7-trithiacyclononane) catalyzes the hydrogenation of CO2 and bicarbonate in aqueous solution. ...

Bimetallic Ru–Ni and Rh–Ni nanocatalysts coated with a phase transfer agent efficiently cleave aryl ether C–O linkages in water in the presence of hydrogen. For dimeric substrates with weaker C–O linkages, i.e. α-O-4 and β-O-4 bonds, low loadings of the pr ...

Reaction of [Ru6C(CO)16]2− with an excess of AgX (X = Cl, Br or I) affords heteronuclear clusters of formula [{Ru6C(CO)16Ag2X}2]2− in 80% yield, which for X = I and X = ...

Various approaches have been employed to passivate the defects in perovskite films used in perovskite solar cells (PSCs). However, the passivation mechanism is often unclear at a molecular level, and the reason for enhanced PSC performance often remains el ...

Ruthenium-based compounds show strong potential as anti-cancer drugs and are being investigated as alternatives to other well-established metal-based chemotherapeutics. The organometallic compound [Ru(eta(6)-p-cymene) Cl-2(pta)], where pta = 1,3,5-triaza-7 ...

Heterobimetallic Ru-Fe complexes of the general formula [(eta(6)-p-cymene) RuCl2(Ph(2)PfcCONHCH(2)CH(2-)COY-kappa P)], where Y = Me, NH2, NHEt, NHPh, and NMe2, and fc = ferrocene-1,1'-diyl, were synthesized from p-cymene ruthenium dichloride dimer and phos ...

Flexible perovskite solar cells (F-PSCs) are highly promising for both stationary and mobile applications because of their advantageous features, including mechanical flexibility, their lightweight and thin nature, and cost-effectiveness. However, a number ...

A homogenous catalytic system has been developed that efficiently and selectively decomposes formic acid into hydrogen and carbon dioxide. [Ru(H2O)6]2+, [Ru(H2O)6]3+ and RuCl3·xH2O are all excellent precatalysts in presence of TPPTS (TPPTS=meta-trisulfonat ...
