A visible light-switchable buffer system based on a protonated merocyanine photoacid is presented. Para -substitution of the indolium side with a methoxy group affords a compound suitable for making hydrolytically stable aqueous buffers whose pH can be tun ...

A series of ruthenium(II) arene derivatives (arene = cymene (cym), hexamethylbenzene (hmb)) containing avobenzone (1-(4-tert-butylphenyl)-3-(4-methoxyphenyl)propane-1,3-dione, AVBH) and PTA (1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane) or PTA-Me (N-methyl-1,3,5-triaz ...

Packing constraints and precise placement of functional groups are the reason that organic molecules in the crystalline state often display unusual physical or chemical properties not observed in solution. Here we report a single-crystal-to-single-crystal ...

Chiral cyclopentadienyl (CpX) metal complexes are frequently used in asymmetric catalysis by virtue of their high reactivity and selectivity. Planar-chiral-only rhodium and iridium cyclopentadienyl complexes are particularly promising due to unrestricted c ...

The reaction of RhCl(eta(4)-Ph2R2C4CO) (R = Ph, 2-naphthyl) with the dimeric complexes RuCl2(p-cymene) p-cymene = 1-methyl-4-(1-methylethyl)benzene, RuCl2(1,3,5-Et3C6H3), MCl2(Cp*) (M = Rh, Ir; Cp* = 1,2,3,4,5-pentamethylcyclopenta-2,4- ...

The trinuclear Ru complexes [RuCl2(PAd2Bu)]3 (1) and [RuCl2(PtBu2Cy)]3 (2) were obtained by reaction of [(p-cymene)RuCl2]2 with 2 equiv of the resp. sterically demanding phosphine. Crystallog. analyses of 1 and 2 show that the three metal fragments are con ...

Coordination cages based on organometallic half-sandwich complexes are of interest, because they can display unique structures and host properties. This communication describes the synthesis and structure of a cylindrical nanostructure containing six (p-cy ...

A mononuclear iron bis(carbonyl) pyridonate complex (1), which exhibits several common structural features with the active site of the iron−sulfur cluster-free [Fe]- hydrogenase, was synthesized and characterized. Spectroscopic data of 1 suggests a 2+ oxid ...

While phosphorescent cyclometalated iridium(III) complexes have been widely studied, only correlations between oxidation potential EOX and Hammett constant sigma, and between the redox gap (Delta E-REDOX = E-OX-E-RED) and emission or absorption wavelength ...

Room-temperature stable diazoolefins provide access to a unique class of carbon-donor ligands: N-heterocyclic vinylidenes. Herein, we describe iridium complexes with terminal N-heterocyclic vinylidene ligands. Cationic complexes of type [Cp*IrClL]X (X = Sb ...

Borylated triazenes were synthesized by the dehydrocoupling of triazenes with 9-borabicyclo(3.3.1)nonane, by the condensation of triazenes with BEt3, or by the reaction of sodium triazenides with dialkyl- or diarylboron halides. The structures of the produ ...

A series of functionalised imidazolium halide salts with substituents able to form pi-bonds have been prepared and characterised. Subsequent reaction of these imidazolium halides with Ag[C(CN)(3)] affords imidazolium-based ionic liquids (ILs), some of whic ...

Dinuclear clathrochelate complexes are easily accessible by reaction of zinc(II) triflate or cobalt(II) nitrate with arylboronic acids and phenoldioximes. The utilization of brominated arylboronic acids and/or brominated phenoldioximes allows preparing cla ...
