The synthesis and characterization of a new class of neutral aminyl radicals is reported. Monoradicals were obtained by reduction of azoimidazolium dyes with potassium. Structural, spectroscopic, and computational data suggest that the spin density is cent ...

The reaction of the iminobiphosphines RN[dbnd]>PPh2-PPh2, where R = C6H4(p-CN), C6H4(m-CN), C6H4(o-C6H5), C6F5 or C6

The cationic ruthenium half-sandwich complex [CpRu(PPh3)(2)(CH3CN)][OTf] (2) (CP = eta(5)-C5Me5, OTf = SO3CF3) was synthesized by reduction of Cp*RuCl2 with zinc in the presence of NaOTf and subsequent reaction with PPh3. When NaOTf was omitted, the ...

The need for efficient and photostable lanthanide luminescent materials is dramatically increasing, in particular with respect to their growing application in lighting devices and biosciences. To this end, we have developed a facile synthesis of benzimidaz ...

The water-sol. complexes [(Cp'OR)RuCl(PTA)2] (Cp'OR = h5-1-alkoxy-2,4-di-tert-butyl-3-neopentylcyclopentadienyl; R = Me, Et; PTA = 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane) are considerably more cytotoxic (.apprx.2 orders of magnitude) than the cyclopentadienyl an ...

Dichalcogenolenes are archetypal redox non-innocent ligands with numerous applications. Herein, we describe a diselenolene ligand with fundamentally different electronic properties. By selenation of a C2-protected imidazolium salt, we have prepared a mesoi ...

The reaction of cis-blocked, square-planar MII complexes with tetratopic N-donor ligands is known to give metallasupramolecular assemblies of the formula M2nLn. These assemblies typically adopt barrel-like structures, with the ligands paneling the sides of ...

The dinuclear complexes [(p-cymene)RuCl2]2 and [(cyclopentadienyl)MCl2]2 (M = Ru, Rh, Ir) are important starting materials in organometallic chemistry. The standard synthesis of these complexes involves heating of an alcoholic solution of RuIII, RhIII, or ...

1-Aryl-3,3-dialkyltriazenes have received considerable attention in the context of synthetic and medicinal chemistry. In contrast, the chemistry of other unsaturated triazenes is largely unexplored. The synthesis of 1-allenyltriazenes is described. This ne ...

Whereas lithium 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidide (LITMP) abstrs. a proton exclusively from the 4-position of 3-bromobenzotrifluoride, the same base attacks selectively the 2-position when employed in the presence of N,N,N',N'',N''-pentamethyldiethylenetriamin ...

The homo- and heterobimetallic complexes [CpRu(m-Cl)3-ML] [LM = (C6H6)Ru, (cymene)Ru, (1,3,5-C6H3iPr3)Ru, CpRh, CpIr] were prepd. by reaction of [CpRu(m-OMe)]2 with Me3SiCl and subsequent addn. of [LMCl2]2. The complexes [Cp*Ru(m-Cl)3Ru(cymene)] and [C ...

Charged cydometalated (CN) iridium(III) complexes with carbene-based ancillary ligands are a promising family of deep-blue phosphorescent compounds. Their emission properties are controlled primarily by the main CN ligands, in contrast to the classic ...

Two new cationic iridium(III) complexes with cyclometalating 1-phenylindazole or 2-phenyl-1,2,3-triazole ligands, (C boolean AND N)(2)Ir(4,4'-di-tert-butyl-2,2'-dipyridyl), exhibit yellow or green phosphorescence with quantum yields and excited stat ...

The condensation of aryl boronic acids with 2,3-dihydroxypyridine gives boronates, which self-assemble to form tetrameric macrocycles as evidenced by X-ray crystallographic analyses. ...

The electrochemical reduction of CO2 to CO is a reaction of central importance for sustainable energy conversion and storage. Herein, structure activity relationships of a series of imidazolium-based cocatalysts for this reaction are described, which demon ...
