A SPLIT-COSY (SPLIT = sepn. of patterns by lifting of the imbroglio of transfer) technique is proposed for the sepn. of overlapping multiplets in the signal-rich region of a COSY spectra. This technique is particularly suitable for isomeric mixts. Results are reported for cyclo(L-pro1-L-pro2-D-pro3). [on SciFinder (R)]

Internal motions in proteins, such as oscillations of internuclear vectors u(NiHiN) of amide bonds about their equil. position, can be characterized by a local order parameter. This dynamic parameter can be detd. exptl. by measuring the longitudinal and tr ...

Right angles: In solid-state magic-angle spinning (MAS) NMR spectra, the line widths of carbonyl carbon atoms in polycryst. cholesteryl acetate are as narrow as 0.039 ppm if the magic angle is adjusted very accurately, i.e., within +-0.004 Deg. The line br ...

We have induced hyperpolarized long-lived states in compounds containing C-13-bearing methyl groups by dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) at cryogenic temperatures, followed by dissolution with a warm solvent. The hyper polarized methyl long-lived states g ...

We show how Al-27-C-13 proximities in the microporous metal-organic framework MIL-100(Al) can be probed using advanced Al-27-C-13 NMR methods boosted by Dynamic Nuclear Polarization. ...

A new strategy has been developed to measure cross-correlation rates with much enhanced accuracy. The method relies on the use of four complementary expts. Errors due to pulse miscalibration and to uncontrolled attenuation factors assocd. with relaxation are cancelled out. Problems due to violations of the secular approxn. are greatly alleviated. The method has been applied to the measurement of N/NH (CSA/DD) cross-correlated relaxation rates in human ubiquitin. [on SciFinder (R)]

Dissolution dynamic nuclear polarization (D-DNP) has become a method of choice to enhance signals in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). Recently, we have proposed to combine cross-polarization (CP) with D-DNP to provide high polarization P(C-13) in short bu ...

Long-lived states (LLS), also known as singlet states, have been widely studied in the last decade. So far, LLS have only been observed in homogeneous magnetic fields, which preclude applications to many biological samples that are inherently inhomogeneous ...

It is shown that the results obtained by D. M. Doddrell, G. J. Galloway, S. E. Rose, P. J. Moulds, and I. M. Brereton (Magn. Reson. Med. 19, 1991) using self‐refocusing 270° Gaussian pulses for slice selection are consistent with our predictions (Magn. Reson. Med. 10, 273, 1989).

Several methods for obtaining selective correlation spectra are described where the relative signs of multiplet components can be manipulated virtually at will. These methods yield spectra with very high resoln. that can be recorded in a short exptl. time. The expts. need not be adapted to the magnitude of the active J coupling cons. but may be sensitive to relaxation. [on SciFinder (R)]

We present novel means to hyperpolarize deuterium nuclei in (CD2)-C-13 groups at cryogenic temperatures. The method is based on cross-polarization from H-1 to C-13 and does not require any radio-frequency fields applied to the deuterium nuclei. After rapid ...
