Two dimensional convolution method for the detn. of active coupling consts. by comparing antiphase and in-phase multiplet by soft-COSY and PISCY spectroscopy results is described. Methods for extg. passive coupling consts. using the complementarity of patterns obtained by soft-COSY and SIS-COSY expts. are given. [on SciFinder (R)]

It is shown how selective high resoln. 2-dimensional NMR spectra can be obtained which feature multiplets where all peaks have the same pos. sign and pure absorption lineshapes. [on SciFinder (R)]

Computer-supported anal. of two-dimensional correlation spectra encounters a no. of obstacles which are due, in the simplest case, to insufficient digital resoln., and, in more severe cases, to fundamental ambiguities in multiplet patterns. Various strategies are discussed involving selective two-dimensional expts. that are designed to circumvent these limitations and lift ambiguities. [on SciFinder (R)]

A new method for the spin-state-selective coherence transfer is introduced based on the principles of adiabatic cross polarization. The method is called single-transition adiabatic cross polarization (ST-ACP). It was analyzed theor. for a scalar-coupled 2-spin 1/2 system. An exptl. test was also developed which reveals the violations from adiabacity. NMR measurements were performed on 15N-enriched samples of tert-butoxycarbonyl-protected glycine. The reversibility of the coherence transfer serves as the exp

On page 2543, the bipolar scheme uses two gradient pulses for encoding, and two other gradient pulses for decoding. Thus, Equation 1 should be S/S0 = exp{-D4k2(D + 6t)}, rather than S/S0 = exp{-Dk2(D + 6t)}, as published. The incorrect expression would lead to an overestimation of the diffusion coeff. D by a factor of 4. This correction does not affect the results shown in Figure 3 or the diffusion coeffs. quoted in the paper. [on SciFinder (R)]

At natural C-13 abundance, metabolomics based on heteronuclear NMR is limited by sensitivity. We have recently demonstrated how hyperpolarization by dissolution dynamic nuclear polarization (D-DNP) assisted by cross-polarization (CP) provides a reliable wa ...

This Letter shows that interleaved sequences of short pulses in the manner of 'Delays Alternating with Nutation for Tailored Excitation' (DANTE) with N = 1,2,3 . . . equidistant pulses per rotor period extending over K rotor periods can be used to excite, ...

A Method for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy of a sample comprising the following steps: (a) excitation of long lived coherences (LLC) between the singlet state So and the central triplet state To of nuclei of the sample by initiating irradia ...

Homo- and heteronuclear 2-dimensional NMR techniques were used to assign the 1H and 13C NMR spectra of title cyclic peptides cyclo[Phe7-D-Trp-Lys(COCH2Ph)-Thr-X11-Pro6] [X = Gly (I), Phe (II)] in Me2SO. Unequivocal assignments of C resonances of Trp and Phe in II could only be obtained by heteronuclear relayed spectroscopy. II has a bII' turn at Phe7...Thr and a bVI turn at Thr...Phe7 including a cis peptide bond between Phe11 and Pro6. Substitution of Phe11 by Gly to give I results in a dramatic change in

Echo modulations that arise in Carr–Purcell–Meiboom–Gill (CPMG) spin echo sequences and stem from homonuclear couplings can be suppressed by different methods. The evolution under homonuclear couplings can be either ‘‘locked’’ or ‘‘refocused’’, leading to ...

A new method has been developed to obtain dynamic and structural information about peptide planes in proteins by a combination of measurements of weak short-range cross-correlation rates R(HNN/NC') that are due to concerted fluctuations of the HN-N and N-C ...

Major urinary protein (MUP) is a pheromone-carrying protein of the lipocalin family. Previous studies by isothermal titrn. calorimetry (ITC) show that the affinity of MUP for the pheromone 2-methoxy-3-isobutylpyrazine (IBMP) is mainly driven by enthalpy, w ...

The use of sign alteration of cross-peak multiplet patterns in phase-sensitive 2-dimensional spectral pattern recognition is discussed. Illustrative results on 2,3-dibromopropionic acid are presented. [on SciFinder (R)]

A review with 147 refs. [on SciFinder (R)]

Several cases are identified where high fields may lead to gains not due to enhanced Zeeman polarization and to improved dispersion: increasing transverse relaxation times, selective pulses of shorter durations, improved measurement of cross-correlation rates by selective spin-locking, and increased CSA-dipolar cross correlation.
