The electroosmotic flow in laminated excimer laser-ablated microchannels has been studied as a function of the depth of the rectangular channels, and particular emphasis has been given to the difference in the ζ-potentials between the lamination layer and ...

Hall devices having an active area of about (500 nm)2 are fabricated by focused electron-beam-induced deposition. The deposited material consists of cobalt nanoparticles in a carbonaceous matrix. The realized devices have, at room temperature, a current se ...

We report a pH-mediated synthetic route for the production of ordered and size-tuneable arrays of gold nanorings using responsive block copolymer micelles as templates. ...

For the observation of single molecule dynamics with fluorescence fluctuation spectroscopy (FFS) very low fluorophore concentrations are necessary. For in vitro measurements, this requirement is easy to fulfill. In biology however, micromolar concentration ...

Laser direct writing of metal lines from solid metalorg. films coated on surfaces has been studied in three systems. Copper deposition from Cu(HCOO)2.2H2O was carried out at higher writing speeds than previously attained. Direct writing of iridium lines from two novel Ir-cluster films [Ir4(CO)11Br][N(C2H5)4] and [Ir6(CO)15][N(CH3)3C8H17]2 was demonstrated. The copper and iridium lines were written on Pyrex. It was found that inhomogeneities in the metalorg. layer are crucial to the quality of the deposited

A process for providing a security paper, in particular a banknote, with a coloured marking, comprising providing a photosensitive preparation on a portion of said document and submitting at least selected areas of said portion to a light beam, wherein said preparation is capable of forming a film on said portion and comprises a substance capable of producing colloidal metal particles under the effect of UV irradiation, and said areas are irradiated by means of an UV-light beam.

The use of interdigitated electrodes of nanometer scale establishes a broad field of new applications particularly in biotechnology. It allows to create electric field gradients at submicrometer scale. The goal of the project is the fabrication and characterization of nanoelectrodes in a sub 100 nm range using FIB-technology.

We report on a heterodyne interferometric scanning near-field optical microscope developed for characterizing, at the nanometric scale, refractive index variations in thin films. An optical lateral resolution of 80 nm (lambda/19) and a precision smaller th ...

Sylilierungspaper, der Kontaktwinkel in Abhängigkeit von den Monolayermolekuelen wurde gemessen.

A method for separating and recovering silicon debris from sawing waste is characterized in that it comprises the following steps: - treating the sawing waste so as to deoxidize the silicon debris in a manner that reduces their surface energy, - applying t ...

The fabrication of interdigitated titanium nanoelectrode arrays of 50 nm in width and spacing is described in this work. The nanoarrays have been realized using a Ga+ focused ion beam (FIB). FIB milling is typically accompanied by redeposition of removed m ...
