Self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) have significantly contributed to the advancement of hole transporting materials (HTMs) for inverted perovskite solar cells (PSCs). However, uneven distribution of SAMs on the substrate largely decreases the PSC performance ...

A series of squaraine-based sensitizers with various p bridges and anchors were prepared and examined in dye-sensitized solar cells. The carboxylic anchor group was attached onto a squaraine dye through p bridges with and without an ethynyl spacer. DFT stu ...

Six organic sensitizers containing 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene and thienothiophene in the bridged group are designed and synthesized, which under standard global AM 1.5 solar conditions, the device using JK-184 gave a conversion efficiency of 8.70%. The pho ...

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have garnered significant attention within the photovoltaic research community due to their remarkable progress in just one decade. Among the device configurations, the p-i-n structured PSC offers several advantages, including ...

Three new red-emitting cationic cyclometalated iridium complexes with formula [Ir(C^N)2(N^N)][ClO4] (C^N = substituted quinoxaline[X-dpqx], N^N = 2-(1-benzyl-1H-benzo[d]imidazole-2-yl) quinoline, namely: IrQ1, 2, 3, where X = H, Cl, and OCH3, respectively) have been synthesized for application as an emitter in light-emitting electrochemical cells (LECs). The (quasi-) reversible redox behavior of the complexes confirmed their electrochemical stability as an impo

Hybrid perovskites have attracted enormous attention in the next generation resistive switching (RS) memristor for the artificial synapses, owing to their ambipolar charge transport, long diffusion length, and tunable visible bandgap. However, the variable ...

In this paper, we present a way of utilizing thin and conformal overlayer of titanium dioxide on insulating mesoporous template as a photoanode for dye-sensitized solar cells (DSC). Different thicknesses of TiO2 ranging from 1 nm to 15 nm are deposited on ...

Brookite TiO2 is the most difficult TiO2 polymorph to synthesize. The available methods in the literature to produce brookite nanostructures mostly use water-based techniques for the preparation of water-soluble Ti complexes first, followed by a hydrotherm ...

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) have a wide variety of applications in environment monitoring (such as air pollution and fire detection), industrial operations (such as machine surveillance), and precision agriculture. It is an arduous task to manage a lar ...

A new phthalocyanine (Pc) bearing bulky peripheral substituents and a carboxylic anchoring group directly attached to the macrocycle has been prepared and used as a sensitizer in DSSCs, reaching 5.57% power conversion efficiency. In addition, an enhanced p ...

The first examples of di-branched di-anchoring organic sensitizers were synthesized and used in dye-sensitized solar cells leading to red-shifted IPCE maxima and increased photocurrent when compared to the corresponding mono-branched mono-anchoring dye, yi ...

Metal-oxide-free methylammonium lead iodide perovskite-based solar cells are prepared using a dual-source thermal evaporation method. This method leads to high quality reproducible films with large crystal domain sizes allowing for an in depth study of the ...

Hybrid lead halide perovskites typically form polycrystalline films that have multiple grain sizes and surface defects. A key engineering challenge toward commercialization is therefore the production of homogeneous, defect-free largearea devices achieving ...

Emerging photovoltaics (PVs) focus on a variety of applications complementing large scale electricity generation. Organic, dye-sensitized, and some perovskite solar cells are considered in building integration, greenhouses, wearable, and indoor application ...

In this report, we demonstrate enlarged grain size (up to-3 lm) in ambient-stable black c-phase CsPbI2Br thin films through the regulated addition of guanidinium iodide (GAI) as an effective volatile additive. Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and X-ray pho ...

Three hole transport materials (HTMs) based on a substituted triphenylamine moiety have been synthesized and successfully employed in triple-cation mixed-halide PSCs, reaching efficiencies of 19.4 %. The efficiencies, comparable to those obtained using spi ...

Planar perovskite solar cells using low-temperature atomic layer deposition (ALD) of the SnO2 electron transporting layer (ETL), with excellent electron extraction and hole-blocking ability, offer significant advantages compared with high-temperature depos ...

A new class of tribranched dye-sensitized solar cell (DSC) sensitizers carrying two conjugated donors and two acceptor/anchoring groups is introduced. The approach leads to significantly different optical properties and enhanced stability with respect to r ...

A fully conjugated unsymmetrical dimeric squaraine dye was synthesized. The synthetic key step for this dye, a selective Knoevenagel type condensation of end groups to the core moiety, allows the incorporation of a carboxylic acid function essentially for ...

Three new sterically demanding unsymmetrical zinc phthalocyanines have been designed and synthesized as sensitizers for dye-sensitized solar cells. All three unsymmetrical phthalocyanines have been completely characterized by elemental analyses, mass spect ...
