One of the challenges in the field of perovskite solar cells (PSC) is the development of inorganic hole-transporting-materials (HTM) suitable for solution-processed deposition, in order to have cheaper, more stable and scalable devices. Herein, we report t ...

Organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites have attracted attention as successful light harvesting materials for mesoscopic solid-state solar cells and led to record breaking efficiencies. The photovoltaic performance of these devices is greatly dependent on the ...

Hybrid lead halide perovskites have reached comparable efficiencies to state-of-the-art silicon solar cell technologies. However, a remaining key challenge toward commercialization is the resolution of the perovskite device instability. In this work, we id ...

A compound of formula (I): (X)nRuLL1 where n is 1 or 2, preferably 2, and in which Ru is ruthenium; each X independently is selected from Cl, SCN, H2O, Br, I, CN and SeCN and L is a ligand of formulae (a) to (g) and L1 is selected from a ligand of formulae (a) to (c) where each R independently is selected from OH, hydrogen, C1-20alkyl, -ORa or -N(Ra)2 and each Ra independently is hydrogen or C1-4alkyl.

Triarylamine end-capped-functionalized arylene-imidazole derivatives were synthesized from readily accessible, inexpensive precursors and employed as hole transporting materials (HTMs) in perovskite solar cells (PSCs). All the HTMs displayed high thermal d ...

Lack of proven stability has become a major obstacle on the path of metal halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs), in particular methylammonium lead triiodide (MAPbI(3)), towards commercial viability. This correlates with the intrinsic affinity of MAPbI(3) to ...

The dendrite growth on the surface of zinc anodes and formation of inactive by-products of Zn4(OH)6SO4.xH2O (ZHS), mainly attributed to the "tip effect" of an uneven surface and water corrosion of zinc anode, have seriously shrunk the anode life and hinder ...

Novel optical sensing films for oxygen based on highly luminescent iridium (III) and ruthenium (II) complexes have been developed. These demonstrate excellent long-term photostability (several months) when incorporated into polystyrene membranes. The influ ...

Thin-film photovoltaics play an important role in the quest for clean renewable energy. Recently, methylammonium lead halide perovskites were identified as promising absorbers for solar cells(1). In the three years since, the performance of perovskite-base ...

The discovery of self-assembled molecular layers (SAMLs) containing anchoring groups such as COOH and PO3H as efficient hole-selective materials (HSMs) in p-i-n perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is pivotal to enhancing the interaction between HSMs and perovski ...

Triazatruxene core based hole transporting materials (HTMs), HMDI (5,10,15-trihexyl-3,8,13-trimethoxy-10,15-dihydro-5H-diindolo[3,2-a: 3',2'-c]carbazole) and HPDI (5,10,15-tris(4-(hexyloxy)phenyl)-10,15-dihydro-5H-diindolo[3,2-a: 3',2'-c]carbazole) were sy ...

The performance of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is partially dependent on the properties of the hole transporting material (HTM) used. Here, we present the synthesis and study of novel benzothiazole-based arylamine HTMs. The compounds are thermally stable ...

All-inorganic CsPbI 3 perovskite holds promise for photovoltaics owing to its optoelectronic properties and thermal stability. However, its high nucleation barrier and thermodynamic instability hinder lowtemperature crystallization, limiting compatibility with flexible and tandem devices. Herein, a synergistic additive strategy combining lead acetate (PbAc 2) and ammonium benzenesulfonate (ABS) enables the fabrication of γ-CsPbI 3 below 100 °C. Acetate anions lower the nucleation energy barrier, while tailo

The distinctive benefits of perovskite solar cells, such as their lightweight nature, high flexibility, and ease of deformation, have garnered significant interest. These characteristics make them well-suited for use in portable electronic devices. Neverth ...

• Triarylamine-based polymers with different functional groups were synthesized as hole-transport materials (HTMs) for perovskite solar cells (PSCs). The novel materials enabled efficient PSCs without the use of chem. doping (or additives) to enhance charge transport. Devices employing poly(triarylamine) with methylphenylethenyl functional groups (V873) showed a power conversion efficiency of 12.3 %, whereas widely used additive-free poly[bis(4-phenyl)(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)amine] (PTAA) demonstrated 10.8 %
