Solution-processed, semi-transparent, conductive electrodes based on PEDOT: PSS [poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate)] using silver grids were developed on a plastic support. The flexible electrode (flextrode) was employed as a cathode i ...

It is not often that the scientific community is blessed with a material, which brings enormous hopes and receives special attention. When it does, it expands at a rapid pace and its every dimension creates curiosity. One such material is perovskite, which ...

High entropy materials (HEMs) are highly effective as a catalyst and can be synthesized by facile methods. Here, we discuss recent advancements in HEMs for Hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), Oxygen evolution reaction (OER), and Oxygen reduction reaction (O ...

The elongation of pi-conjugated bridges between the donor (D) and the acceptor (A) represents a feasible strategy towards enhancement of light-harvesting in both breadth and depth of organic D-pi-A dyes suitable for nanocrystalline TiO2-based dye-sensitize ...

Carbon perovskite solar cells (C-PSCs) represent a promising photovoltaic (PV) technology that addresses the long-term operating stability needed to compete with commercial Si solar cells. However, the poor interface contacts between the carbon electrode a ...

Quasi type-II PbSe/PbS quantum dots (QDs) are employed in a solid state high efficiency QD/TiO2 heterojunction solar cell. The QDs are deposited using layer-by-layer deposition on a half-micrometer-thick anatase TiO2 nanosheet film with (001) exposed facet ...

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dye to become a constituting material of a dye-sensitized solar cell having a high conversion efficiency and excelling in the durability. SOLUTION: The dye is represented by formula (1): ML1L2L3 ...

The invention relates to electrochemical devices comprising complexes of cobalt comprising at least one ligand with a 5- or six membered, N-containing heteroring. The complex are useful as p- and n- dopants, as over of electrochemical devices, in particula ...

A series of unsymmetrical zinc phthalocyanines bearing an anchoring carboxylic function linked to the phthalocyanine ring through different spacers were designed for dye-sensitised solar cells (DSSC). The modification of the spacer group allows not only a ...

Electrolytic respirometry was used to determine the biodegradation kinetic parameters of five volatile aromatic organic compounds: benzene, 1,2‐dichlorobenzene, 1,3‐dichlorobenzene, 1,4‐dichlorobenzene, and 1,2,3‐trichlorobenzene. A protocol developed earlier was modified to accommodate the volatile characteristic of the test compounds. Specifically, the model used in data analysis was modified using Henry's law constant to incorporate the effect of partitioning of a volatile substrate between the gas and l

Stable self-assembled monolayers (SAMs), such as (2-(9H-carbazol-9-yl)) ethylphosphonic acid (2PACz), are crucial for reducing interfacial energy loss in high-performance perovskite solar cells (PSCs). However, the inherent aggregation tendency of SAMs at the buried interface hinders the device's performance. Here, we propose a surfactant-assisted strategy to inhibit the aggregation of 2PACz by functionalizing cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB). Capitalizing on its distinctive electrostatic potential dis

There are only few semiconducting materials that have been shaping the progress of third generation photovoltaic cells as much as perovskites. Although they are deceivingly simple in structure, the archetypal AMX(3)-type perovskites have built-in potential ...

Although the power conversion efficiency of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) has reached 25.7%, there is still great potential for improvement in their performance and stability. In the past few years, ionic liquids (ILs) have been extensively investigated an ...

Two new heteroleptic ruthenium(II) photosensitizers that contains 2,2';6,2 ''-terpyridine with extended p-conjugation with donor groups, a 4,4'-dicarboxylic acid-2,2'-bipyridine anchoring ligand and a thiocyanate ligand have been designed, synthesized and ...

Today's best perovskite solar cells use a mixture of formamidinium and methylammonium as the monovalent cations. With the addition of inorganic cesium, the resulting triple cation perovskite compositions are thermally more stable, contain less phase impuri ...

Low temperature processing of Dye-sensitized Solar Cells (DSCs) is essential to enable commercialization with low cost plastic substrates and diminish the overall manufacturing cost. We report a low temperature processing route for photoanodes where thin Z ...

Unsymmetrical Zn phthalocyanine consisting of six S-aryl groups at alpha-positions and a carboxy anchoring group at beta-position has been designed and synthesized for dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) applications. The unsymmetrical phthalocyanine has bee ...

In solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells (ssDSCs), the poor pore filling of the mesoporous semiconductor and the short diffusion length of charge carriers, in the hole-transport material (HTM) have limited the mesoscopic titania layer to a thickness of 2- ...
