The present invention relates to a new family of mono, bis or tris (2,2'-substituted bipyridine) complexes of a metal selected amongst iron, ruthenium, osmium or vanadium, the bipyridine being substituted by at least one electron donor group. According to ...

In pursuit of panchromatic sensitizers for mesoporous TiO2-based solid-state solar cells, a near-IR absorbing zinc phthalocyanine dye (coded TT1) was firstly adsorbed over relatively thin (similar to 1 mu m) TiO2 mesoporous films and then a visible-light a ...

There is an urge to develop new hole-transporting materials (HTMs) for perovskite solar cells (PSCs), which can yield comparable power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) yet mitigate the issue of stability associated with the state-of-the-art HTM Spiro-MeOTAD. ...

The aim of this brief review is to give a short and simple overview of the dye-sensitized solar cell technology from the working principles to the first commercial applications. It emphasizes the role of the sensitizer and the strategies to improve the per ...

Various approaches have been employed to passivate the defects in perovskite films used in perovskite solar cells (PSCs). However, the passivation mechanism is often unclear at a molecular level, and the reason for enhanced PSC performance often remains el ...

A new heteroleptic ruthenium complex, coded CYC-B12, incorporating an antenna ligand composed of sequential connections of a thienothiophene conjugated bridge and carbazole hole-transport moiety was prepared. This new sensitizer exhibits a lower energy MLC ...

Low-temperature solution-processed organic-inorganic halide perovskite CH3NH3PbI3 has demonstrated great potential for photovoltaics and light-emitting devices. Recent discoveries of long ambipolar carrier diffusion lengths and the prediction of the Rashba ...

The photoprocesses of N-vinylcarbazole (NVC) solubilized in the interior of an oil-in-water microemulsion (CTA-ci, hexadecyltrimethylammonium counter ion) functionalized by an oxidizing agent, S2O2−8, were studied using ruby laser and spectrofluorimeter techniques. It was found that the excited singlet state of NVC reacts quickly with the persulfate to form its radical cation, exhibiting absorption maxima at 790, 700, 630 and 500 nm. Upon increasing the concentration of NVC substrate, a shift is observed in

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have attracted intense attention based on their high power conversion efficiency and low production cost. However, due to the polycrystalline nature and the intrinsic hydrophilicity of the metal halide perovskite moieties, the ...

Different molecular layers on TiO2 were prepared by using the p-dimethylaniline triphenylamine based organic dye, D29, together with the coadsorbents decylphosphonic acid (DPA), dineohexyl bis(3,3-dimethylbutyl)phosphinic acid (DINHOP), and chenodeoxycholi ...

Improving the long-term stability of perovskite solar cells is critical to the deployment of this technology. Despite the great emphasis laid on stability-related investigations, publications lack consistency in experimental procedures and parameters repor ...

Two star-shaped TPA-based small-molecule materials (Z1012 and Z1013) were designed and synthesized in this paper. These molecules show high hole mobility and suitable energy levels for CH3NH3PbI3-based perovskite solar cells. Photovoltaic cells based on th ...

A new processing technique is proposed for composites based on the hybrid organic inorganic perovskite MeNH3PbI3 and anodic titania nanotube arrays, which includes a direct gas phase conversion of metal lead nanorods electrodeposited inside the pores of an ...

Engineering the chemical composition of inorganic-organic hybrid perovskite materials is an effective strategy to boost the performance and operational stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Among the diverse family of ABX(3) perovskites, methylammoni ...

An optimum amount of lead bromide (1%) can enhance the power conversion efficiency of CH3NH3PbI3-xBrx (where x approximate to 0) devices from 14.7% to 16.9% without altering the bandgap of the perovskite material. ...

The present invention relates to a method for producing a solid state solar cell, comprising the steps of providing a conductive support layer or current collector, applying a metal oxide layer on the conducting support layer, applying at least one sensiti ...

Due to its abundance, scalability, and nontoxicity, Cu2O has attracted extensive attention toward solar energy conversion, and it is the best performing metal oxide material. Until now, the high efficiency devices are all planar in structure, and their pho ...

The high molar extinction coefficient heteroleptic ruthenium dye, NaRu(4,4'-bis(5-(hexylthio)thiophen-2-yl)-2,2'-bipyridine) (4-carboxylic acid-4'-carboxylate-2,2'-bipyridine) (NCS)(z), exhibits certified 5% electric power conversion efficiency at AM 1.5 solar irradiation (100 mWcm(-2)) in a solid-state dye-sensitized solar cell using 2,2',7,7'-tetrakis-(N,N-dipmethoxyphenylamine)-9,9'-spirobifluorene (spiro-MeOTAD) as the organic hole-transporting material. This demonstration elucidates a class of photovol
