An orange-red-emitting iridium complex (N958) was prepared, and its photophysical and device-based characteristics were investigated. Despite N958 displaying quite poor photophysical properties in solution (acetonitrile), organic light-emitting diode (OLED ...

Chemical reactions and chemical equilibria. Thermodynamics of ideal and real solutions. Statistical Mechanics, microcanonical ensemble, canonical ensemble.

Two novel metal-free organic donor-pi-acceptor dyes were synthesized using electron-rich 10-butyl-(2-methylthio)-10H-phenothiazine as a donor and cyanoacrylic acid as an acceptor. The spectral response of the dye was tuned by introducing a vinylene thiophe ...

A structural analysis of the Ru—RuOx/TiO2 catalyst has been carried out. This catalyst is active for CO2 methanation at low temperatures. The preparation conditions are critical in generating the selective dispersion of the metallic particles on rutile crystallites in TiO2-P25. This distribution is limited to the most active samples (CH4 rate = 70 µl/h). On reducing the catalyst at 500°C, in 1 : 1 Ar + H2 for 1 h, Ru metal particles of not, vert, similar 5 nm have been obtained. These particles have a perfe

We developed a cost-effective spiro-type 4,4 ',4 '',4 '''-(2H,2 ' H,4H,4 ' H-3,3 '-spiro-bi[thieno[3,4-b][1,4] dioxepine]-6,6 ',8,8 '-tetrayl) tetrakis(N,N-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)aniline) hole transporting material (PST1) for perovskite solar cells (PSCs) th ...

We report a high molar extinction coefficient metal-free sensitizer composed of a triarylamine donor in combination with the 2-(2,2'-bithiophen-5-yl)acrylonitrile conjugation unit and cyanoacrylic acid as an acceptor. In conjugation with a volatile acetoni ...

Viologen derivs. adsorbed on TiO2 surfaces in nanocryst.-nanoporous electrodes have been studied with respect to electrochromic phenomena. The transparent nature and the high internal surface area of these electrodes are very beneficial for this purpose. Two different viologens were studied giving rise to blue, green, and violet coloration. For one of the viologens the authors showed the possibility to vary the color for the same viologen/TiO2 electrode from transparent to green or violet depending on the a

We present the design and synthesis of a promising hole transporting material (HTM) using the 4,40-spirobi[cyclopenta[2,1-b: 3,4-b']dithiophene] derivative (spiro-CPDT) as the core and triarylamines as terminal units. The implementation of the new HTM in C ...

A regenerative photoelectrochemical cell (1) including a first transparent substrate (2) comprising a first transparent electrode (6), and a second transparent substrate (4) comprising a second transparent electrode (8) on which a first photoelectrochemically active semiconductor oxide layer (10) is deposited as a porous nanostructure of sintered colloidal particles (12). Said substrates (2, 4) are arranged so as to define a space filled with an electrolyte (16) impregnating said porous structure in such a

Photosensitizers yielding superior photocurrents are crucial for copper-electrolyte-based highly efficient dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs). Herein, two molecularly tailored organic sensitizers are presented, coded ZS4 and ZS5, through judiciously employi ...

Irradiation of acidic (pH 2) solutions of RuL32+ 2Cl− (L = diisopropyl 2,2′‐bipyridine‐4,4′ ‐dicarboxylate) in the presence of TiO2 at 100°C leads to the loss of one bipyridyl ligand and the chemical fixation of RuL2 at the surface of teh TiO2 particles through formation of Ru‐O‐Ti bonds. These surface complexes are very stable and shift the absorption onset of TiO2 beyond 600 mm. Efficient sensitization H2‐generation is achieved with this system beginning in the wave length domain between 590 and 665 nm. P

Cationic cyclometalated iridium(III) complexes (N,C-2'-2-phenylpyridyl)(2)Ir((NN)-N-boolean AND) with alkyl-substituted 1-(2'-pyridyl)-pyrazole (NN)-N-boolean AND ligands exhibit green phosphorescence from a cyclometalating-ligand-centered excited s ...

Two new D-pi-A sensitizers (L101 and L102) incorporating 5H-[1,2,5]thiadiazolo [3,4-f] isoindole-5,7(6H)-dione and 6H-pyrrolo[3,4-g]quinoxaline-6,8(7H)-dione core structures were synthesized and tested in liquid dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs). L102 achi ...

Electron-withdrawing molecules (EWMs) have exhibited remarkable efficacy in boosting the performance of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). However, the underneath mechanisms governing their positive attributes remain inadequately understood. Herein, we conduct ...

Despite their extremely good performance in solar cells with efficiencies approaching 20% and the emerging application for light-emitting devices, organic-inorganic lead halide perovskites suffer from high content of toxic, polluting, and bioaccumulative P ...

Several zinc-based phthalocyanines have been synthesized and used in Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSC). The results have been compared with the standard TT1 phthalocyanine, which shows good light-to-energy conversion efficiencies in comparison with other I ...

Over the past decade, we witnessed a remarkable development of a new generation of photovoltaic technologies, in particular dyesensitized and perovskite solar cells. These systems have demonstrated potential to provide solutions for a more sustainable futu ...

Photoelectric conversion device (1) comprising semiconductor electrode (15) having semiconductor layer (7) carrying a sensitizing dye, counter electrode (9) arranged opposite to the semiconductor electrode (15) and electrolyte layer (13) arranged between t ...

We present a new, easily scalable method for the deposition of nanocrystalline hematite photoelectrodes based on the spin-coating of a mixed solution containing tin(II) and iron(III) chlorides followed by thermal treatment. Our facile approach does not req ...

We report on solid-state mesoscopic heterojunction solar cells employing nanoparticles (NPs) of methyl ammonium lead iodide (CH3NH3)PbI3 as light harvesters. The perovskite NPs were produced by reaction of methylammonium iodide with PbI2 and deposited onto ...
