There are only few semiconducting materials that have been shaping the progress of third generation photovoltaic cells as much as perovskites. Although they are deceivingly simple in structure, the archetypal AMX(3)-type perovskites have built-in potential ...

This contribution discusses the chemical stability of methylammonium (MA) halide perovskites (MAPbI(3), MAPbBr(3), and MAPbCl(3)); it considers degradation processes relevant for devices (vs T, O-2, H2O, voltage, illumination) by outlining their thermodyna ...

The present invention concerns photoelectronic and/or optoelectronic learning device and/or memory device. In an embodiment, the device is a dye- sensitized solar cell. The short circuit photocurrent density (Jsc) of the device, and wherein a degree of a J ...

The electron transport layer (ETL) is a key constituent in perovskite solar cells (PSCs). It should provide efficient and selective electron extraction, low resistivity and high stability. Here, zinc stannate (Zn2SnO4, ZSO) is employed as an ETL in planar ...

The recent dramatic rise in power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) has triggered intense research worldwide. However, high PCE values have often been reached with poor stability at an illuminated area of typically less than 0 ...

Carbon-based perovskite solar cells (C-PSCs) are recognized as low-cost stable photovoltaics. However, currently most highly efficient C-PSCs are optically opaque, which means that they can only utilize direct illumination but cannot efficiently utilize th ...

Two new heteroleptic ruthenium(II) photosensitizers that contains 2,2';6,2 ''-terpyridine with extended p-conjugation with donor groups, a 4,4'-dicarboxylic acid-2,2'-bipyridine anchoring ligand and a thiocyanate ligand have been designed, synthesized and ...

Today's best perovskite solar cells use a mixture of formamidinium and methylammonium as the monovalent cations. With the addition of inorganic cesium, the resulting triple cation perovskite compositions are thermally more stable, contain less phase impuri ...

A series of novel, surface-active, inorganometallic complexes of osmium were synthesized and then characterized (using electrochemical techniques) as electron transfer mediators for glucose oxidase (EC 1.1.3.4, GOD) from Aspergillus niger. The mediators co ...

Organic-inorganic perovskite structures in which lead is substituted by tin are exceptional candidates for broadband light absorption. Herein we present a thorough analysis of the optical properties of CH3NH3SnxPb1-xI3 films, providing the field with defin ...

Low temperature processing of Dye-sensitized Solar Cells (DSCs) is essential to enable commercialization with low cost plastic substrates and diminish the overall manufacturing cost. We report a low temperature processing route for photoanodes where thin Z ...

Developing high-performance, low-cost electrocatalysts for the reduction reaction at the cathode of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) is important for their commercialization. Here, we introduce the concept of redox catalysis for improving counter-electrod ...

The photoanode morphology is key for improving photovoltaic performance of dye-sensitized solar cells. On one side, light harvesting depends on its capability of both chemisorbing high quantity of dye and affecting the flow of light in order to enhance its ...

The invention discloses a perovskite solar cell and a method of fabrication thereof. The perovskite solar cell sequentially comprises a transparent electrode, a mesoporous P-I-N framework and a counter electrode from the bottom to top; the mesoporous P-I-N ...

We employed the bisthienothiophene conjugated linker along with a hydrophobic triphenylamine electron-donor and a hydrophilic cyanoacrylic acid electron-acceptor to construct a high molar extinction coefficient organic photosensitizer, exhibiting a power c ...

The present invention provides a method for depositing an organic-inorganic perovskite, the method comprising the step of depositing a perovskite precursor solution comprising one or more organic cation, wherein said precursor solution is preferably deposi ...

The ruthenium-containing sensitizing dye N719 grafted on TiO2 nanoparticles was investigated by solidstate NMR. The carbon resonances are assigned by means of 13C cross-polarized dipolar dephasing experiments. DFT calculations of the carbon magnetic shield ...

We have investigated the thermal stability of the heteroleptic ruthenium complex C106 employed as a sensitizer in dye-sensitized solar cells. The C106 was adsorbed on TiO2 particles and exposed to 2 different iodide/triidode based redox electrolytes A and ...

In solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells (ssDSCs), the poor pore filling of the mesoporous semiconductor and the short diffusion length of charge carriers, in the hole-transport material (HTM) have limited the mesoscopic titania layer to a thickness of 2- ...

Regeneration of dye sensitizer molecules by reducing species contained in the electrolyte is a key mechanism in liquid dye-sensitized solar cells because it competes kinetically with a detrimental charge recombination process. Kinetics of the reduction by ...
