LaTiO2N photoanodes for solar water splitting were prepared by electrophoretic deposition and demonstrated the best photo-currents ever reported for this material. Further important enhancement of the performance was obtained by the use of a sputtered In2O ...

A photovoltaic cell (1) including a substrate (2) with a supporting surface (4) over which extends a first electrode (6), and a second electrode (10) isolated from the first electrode (6) by a plurality of layers (14, 16; 14, 24, 16), including at least one first layer (14) of a semiconductor material having an active junction (J) at one interface thereof. Said active junction (J) has developed area greater than its projected area.

All-inorganic perovskite films hold promise for improving the stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). However, the 3D alpha phase of narrow-bandgap inorganic perovskites is thermodynamically unstable at room temperature, limiting the development of hig ...

Modulating the structure and property of hole-transporting organic semiconductors is of paramount importance for high-efficiency and stable perovskite solar cells (PSCs). This work reports a low-cost peri-xanthenoxanthene based small-molecule P1, which is ...

In this work, we describe a new class of non-fused 3D asymmetric compounds (named 1, 2, 3, and 4) as low-cost organic hole-transporting materials (HTMs) for perovskite solar cells (PSCs). The fundamental understanding of the influence of the methylthio and ...

The elongation of pi-conjugated bridges between the donor (D) and the acceptor (A) represents a feasible strategy towards enhancement of light-harvesting in both breadth and depth of organic D-pi-A dyes suitable for nanocrystalline TiO2-based dye-sensitize ...

An experimental study of the influence of gold nanoparticles on a alpha-Fe2O3 photoanodes for photoelectrochemical water splitting is described. A relative enhancement in the water splitting efficiency at photon frequencies corresponding to the plasmon res ...

This invention relates to an optoelectronic or photovoltaic device comprising a perovskite or metal halide perovskite film treated by one or more compounds of formula (I): ((R1-NH(R2)-R3)+)nW (I), wherein n is an integer selected from 1, 2, or 3; R1, R2, R ...

Quasi type-II PbSe/PbS quantum dots (QDs) are employed in a solid state high efficiency QD/TiO2 heterojunction solar cell. The QDs are deposited using layer-by-layer deposition on a half-micrometer-thick anatase TiO2 nanosheet film with (001) exposed facet ...

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dye to become a constituting material of a dye-sensitized solar cell having a high conversion efficiency and excelling in the durability. SOLUTION: The dye is represented by formula (1): ML1L2L3 ...

Perovskite solar cells have recently reached staggering efficiencies, through efforts focused on reducing grain boundaries, by enlarging the size of the crystalline domains that constitute the perovskite films. Here, we demonstrate that smaller crystallite ...

The invention relates to electrochemical devices comprising complexes of cobalt comprising at least one ligand with a 5- or six membered, N-containing heteroring. The complex are useful as p- and n- dopants, as over of electrochemical devices, in particula ...

We have tested the photovoltaic metrics of CH3NH3PbI3 perovskite solar cells over a wide temperature range from 80-360 K. Our investigation reveals that the open-circuit voltage reaches a maximum value at about 200 K close to the phase transition from tetr ...

The invention relates to electrochemical devices comprising complexes of cobalt comprising at least one ligand with a 5- or six membered, N-containing heteroring. The complex are useful as p- and n-dopants, as over of electrochemical devices, in particular ...

A series of unsymmetrical zinc phthalocyanines bearing an anchoring carboxylic function linked to the phthalocyanine ring through different spacers were designed for dye-sensitised solar cells (DSSC). The modification of the spacer group allows not only a ...

Advances in solar photovoltaics are urgently needed to increase the performance and reduce the cost of harvesting solar power. Solution-processed photovoltaics are cost-effective to manufacture and offer the potential for physical flexibility. Rapid progre ...

A series of simple metal-free organic dyes MS1-MS3 have been designed and synthesized, and their optical, electrochemical, and photovoltaic properties were investigated. The molecular structures are based on a push-pull framework with a triphenylamine, nap ...

A round robin for the performance of roll-to-roll coated flexible large-area polymer solar-cell modules involving 18 different laboratories in Northern America, Europe and Middle East is presented. The study involved the performance measurement of the devi ...
