The UPNAE Laboratory of Computational and Systems Biology, led by Prof. Naef at EPFL, focuses on the quantitative study of biological systems, particularly the interplay between physics and biology. Research areas include circadian gene regulatory networks, liver chronobiology, transcriptional bursting, developmental patterning, and gene regulation. The lab employs a combination of theoretical, computational, and experimental methods to investigate these systems, with a recent emphasis on understanding the circadian clock's regulation of liver genes in both time and space. The lab has been awarded prestigious grants and is actively seeking new team members for research projects in quantitative gene regulation and chronobiology.
