The Institut interfacultaire de Bioingenierie (SV) at EPFL is dedicated to performing world-class research at the intersection of engineering, physics, chemistry, computer science, and life sciences. By breaking down boundaries between disciplines, the institute aims to better understand biological principles and translate this knowledge into innovative technology platforms and clinical applications. The research agenda of the institute focuses on bioimaging, bioinstrumentation, biophysics, quantitative biology, nano- and microscale bioengineering, and neuroengineering. Through investigating fundamental biophysical processes, biological networks, cellular behavior, stem cell regulation, and more, the institute aims to develop novel bio-inspired applications in areas such as drug delivery, immunotherapy, tissue engineering, biomedical devices, biosensors, neuroprosthetics, and physiological modeling.
