Cu-based bimetallic catalysts have attracted great attention for the reverse water gas shift (RWGS) reaction due to their high activity and selectivity. This work reports the application of Cu-In bimetallic catalysts for the RWGS reaction and demonstrates ...

Al-air batteries are regarded as the potential energy conversion systems due to the ultra-high theoretical specific ca-pacity of 2980 mAh/g and specific energy of 8100 mWh/g for Al anodes. However, the anodic self-corrosion has severely limited the energy ...

Supported Co-based catalysts exhibit promising catalytic activities in the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) during alkaline water electrolysis. Surface functionalization of the support modulates the dispersion of the catalysts and their interaction with the ...

Ammonia borane (AB) has been extensively studied as a solid-state hydrogen storage material. On the other hand, its reactivity with CO2 is still unclear, especially in the solid state. By carefully controlling the CO2 pressure and temperature, AB efficient ...

The lack of long-term stability and reproducibility of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is the main roadblock preventing their successful commercialization. 3D/2D PSCs are one of the most prominent ways to address these issues. Various salts that are mostly b ...

Although Al-air batteries are expected to be the candidates for energy conversion systems in renewable energy market due to the higher energy density, richer reserves, and lighter mass of Al metal, the anode self-discharge is seen as a notorious issue that ...

Methanation of CO2 is an important reaction for reducing CO2 emissions in a power-to-gas system. Compared to cobalt supported on gamma-Al2O3, cobalt supported on graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) showed significantly better performance for CO2 methanation. Cob ...

Platinum group metal-free catalysts (e.g., Fe-N-C and Co-N-C) are used as hydrogen peroxide reduction reaction (PRR) catalysts in direct borohydride fuel cells (DBFCs). Fe-N-C is more active in the PRR and demonstrates high performance at the beginning of ...

Ni- and Co-based catalysts with added Fe demonstrate promising activity in the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) during alkaline water electrolysis, with the presence of Fe in a certain quantity being crucial for their enhanced performance. The mode of incor ...

Chemical bath deposition (CBD) is an effective technique used to produce high-quality SnO2 electron transport layers (ETLs) employed in perovskite solar cells (PSCs). By optimizing the CBD process, high-quality SnO2 films are obtained with minimal oxygen v ...

Flexible Al-air batteries are seen as the next generation of power devices for portable electronics due to the high capacity, low cost and environmental friendliness. However, the anodic parasitic reactions hinder their commercialization. Here, we develop ...

Membranes based on a porous two-dimensional selective layer offer the potential to achieve exceptional performance to improve energy efficiency and reduce the cost for carbon capture. So far, separation from two-dimensional pores has exploited differences ...

CO-selective metals (e.g., Ag) on Cu catalysts improve the selec-tivity of multi-carbon (C2+) products in electrochemical CO2 reduc-tion. However, the origin of the improvement remains unclear due to the convolution of tandem and interface effects. Here, A ...

The difficulty of synthesizing uniform atomically precise active sites limits our ability to engineer increasingly more active heterogeneous catalysts for the hydrogenation of CO2 to methanol. Here we design Cu/ZrOx clusters on MgO with near atomic precisi ...

One of the leading approaches to enhancing the performance and stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) involves passivating the perovskite surface and grain boundaries with large ammonium salts. Here, we report the synthesis of furan-, thiophene-, and s ...

Wadsley-Roth phase titanium niobium oxides have received considerable interest as anodes for lithium ion batteries. However, the volume expansion and sluggish ion/electron transport kinetics retard its application in grid scale. Here, fast and durable lith ...

Herein, a fluoropolymer bifunctional solid membrane interface (SMI) for an aqueous Al-air battery is proposed, which inhibits anodic self-corrosion, while concurrently reducing the accumulation of undesirable by-products. A battery using the SMI exhibits a ...
