This study assesses the influence during interfacial polymerization on polyamide thin film composite (TFC) morphology and performance of varying monomer concentrations and organic phases with widely varying physico-chemical characteristics (interfacial ten ...

Gas separation is one of the most important industrial processes and is poised to take a larger role in the transition to renewable energy, e.g., carbon capture and hydrogen purification. Conventional gas separation processes involving cryogenic distillati ...

Solvent resistant and pH-stable nanofiltration membranes play a crucial role in solvent or water reuse across various industries, including pharma, chemical, dairy and mining, where stringent pH conditions and chemical stability are imperative. Previous re ...

This study presents an optimized and scalable crosslinking approach for poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) membranes in solvent-resistant nanofiltration (SRNF), emphasizing cost efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability. The effect of four swellin ...

Porous graphene films are attractive as a gas separation membrane given that the selective layer can be just one atom thick, allowing high-flux separation. A favorable aspect of porous graphene is that the pore size, essentially gaps created by lattice def ...

Incorporation of a high density of molecular-sieving nanopores in the graphene lattice by the bottom-up synthesis is highly attractive for high-performance membranes. Herein, we achieve this by a controlled synthesis of nanocrystalline graphene where incom ...

The chemoenzymatic dynamic kinetic resolution of beta-amino esters is established after detailed evaluation of metal-based heterogeneous catalysts for racemization and enzyme catalysts for kinetic resolution. Several heterogeneous palladium catalysts prove ...

Patterned membranes prepared via spray-modified non -solvent induced phase separation (s-NIPS) have successfully shown enhanced fluxes and better fouling control, thanks to the increased surface area and high fluid shear at the membrane/feed interface. The ...

State-of-the-art membranes for nanofiltration are thin film composite membranes, comprising of a thin top layer on top of a porous support. Many separation processes in organic chemistry involve extreme conditions, e.g. aggressive solvents, solvent-water m ...
