Optical frequency combs are a series of phase-locked and equidistant laser lines in the spectral domain. In the time domain, they correspond to periodic pulse trains by the Fourier relation. The ability to shape optical combs and pulse trains is pivotal to ...

The coherent photogalvanic effect leads to the generation of a current under the absorption interference of coherent beams and allows for the inscription of space-charge gratings leading to a second-order susceptibility (chi((2))). The inscribed grating au ...

Arrayed waveguide gratings (AWGs) are widely used photonic components for splitting and combining different wavelengths of light. They play a key role in wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) systems by enabling efficient routing of multiple data channels ...

The Talbot self-imaging effect is mostly present in the forms of space or time, or in the frequency domain by the Fourier duality. Here, we disclose a new spectral Talbot effect arising in optical orbital angular momentum (OAM) modes. The effect occurs in ...

All-optical poling enables reconfigurable and efficient quasi-phase-matching for second-order parametric frequency conversion in silicon nitride integrated photonics. Here, we report broadly tunable milliwatt-level second-harmonic generation in a small fre ...

Quasi-phase-matching (QPM) is a widely adopted technique for mitigating stringent momentum conservation in nonlinear optical processes such as second-harmonic generation (SHG). It effectively compensates for the phase velocity mismatch between optical harm ...

Quasi-phase-matching has long been a widely used approach in nonlinear photonics, enabling efficient parametric frequency conversions such as second-harmonic generation. However, in silicon photonics the task remains challenging, as materials best suited f ...

An amplitude analysis of B-0 ((+-))(K+-) decays is performed in the two-body invariant mass regions 300 < m((+-)) < 1100 MeV/c(2), accounting for the (0), , f(0)(500), f(0)(980) and f(0)(1370) resonances, and 750 < m(K+-) < 1200 MeV/c(2), which is dominate ...

A search for charge-parity (CP) violation in Cabibbo-suppressed D-s(+) -> K-S(0)pi(+), D+ -> (KSK+)-K-0, and D+ -> phi pi(+) decays is reported using proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.8 fb(-1), collected at a cent ...

The temporal Talbot effect describes the periodic self-imaging of an optical pulse train along dispersive propagation. This is well studied in the context of bright pulse trains, where identical or multiplied pulse trains with uniform bright waveforms can ...

We observe fiber fuse in tapered GeAsSe photonic crystal fibers (PCF) at around 7 MW∕cm2 of intra-core intensity. Vertically cleaved facets from the un-tapered regions and the tapered regions were imaged. The images show shallow voids of different shapes c ...

Silicon nitride (Si3N4) is an ever-maturing integrated platform for nonlinear optics but mostly considered for third-order [chi(3)] nonlinear interactions. Recently, second-order [chi(2)] nonlinearity was introduced into Si3N4 via the photogalvanic effect, ...

Shaping the light beam is always essential for laser technology and its applications. Among the shaping technologies, shaping the laser in its Fourier domain is a widely used and effective method, such as a pulse shaper, or a 4f system with a phase mask or ...

We demonstrated an integrated electro-optic frequency comb generator with 450nm span and 29.6GHz spacing, entirely covering optical telecom E-, S-, C-, L-, and U-bands, via monolithic co-integration of microwave and photonics resonators on thin-film lithiu ...

A novel photonic integrated circuit architecture for implementing orthogonal frequency division multiplexing by means of photonic generation of phase-correlated sub-carriers is proposed. The circuit can also be used for implementing complex modulation, fre ...

Quasi-phase-matching for efficient backward second-harmonic generation requires sub-μm poling periods, a nontrivial fabrication feat. For the first time, we report integrated first-order quasiphase-matched backward second-harmonic generation enabled by see ...

We demonstrate soliton based radiofrequency filters using a 104 GHz Si3N4 microresonator. The filter passband frequencies are widely reconfigured via inherent soliton states of perfect soliton crystals and two-soliton microcombs, without any external pulse ...

Mode-locked lasers (MLLs), capable of generating ultrashort coherent pulses, have been instrumental for numerous applications, including optical frequency metrology, eye surgery, machining, additive manufacturing, imaging and spectroscopy. However, commerc ...

We demonstrate a fully hybrid integrated electrooptic comb generator based on a dispersion engineered thin-film Lithium Tantalate microresonator featuring robust turnkey operation and record-broad >200nm span covering the entire telecommunications S, C, an ...

We present a Nyquist pulse generation technique based on a single Mach-Zehnder modulator driven by a multi-harmonic electrical signal. The direct control of the RF components yields a range of 10 GHz sinc-shaped pulse train. ...
