Low-dimensional hybrid perovskites have triggered significant research interest due to their intrinsically tunable optoelectronic properties and technologically relevant material stability. In particular, the role of the organic spacer on the inherent stru ...

Surface passivation of the perovskite photo absorber is a key factor to improve the photovoltaic performance. So far robust passivation strategies have not yet been revealed. Here, we demonstrate a successful passivation strategy which controls the Fermi-l ...

The power conversion efficiency of perovskite solar cells is drastically affected by photocarrier dynamics at the interfaces. Experimental measurements show quenching of the photoluminescence (PL) signal from the perovskite layer when it is capped with a h ...

The dynamic evolution of the vibrational interactions in the prototypical CH3NH3PbI3 was studied through a comprehensive experimental and theoretical investigation with a focus on the interactions between the organic cations and the inorganic cage. To date ...

2D hybrid perovskites (2DP) are versatile materials, whose electronic and optical properties can be tuned through the nature of the organic cations (even when those are seemingly electronically inert). Here, it is demonstrated that fluorination of the orga ...

By two‐step sequential Pb2+ adsorption and reaction with methylammonium‐iodide (MAI) or ‐bromide (MABr) at a low concentration level of 0.06–0.10 m over mesoporous TiO2 or ZrO2 film, a well‐defined nanoscale CH3NH3PbI3 (MAPbI3) photosensitizer or CH3NH3PbB ...

Interfacial engineering of the meso-TiO2 surface through a modified sequential deposition procedure involving a novel PbI2–HMPA complex pretreatment is conducted as a reproducible method for preparing MAPbI3 based perovskite solar cells providing the highe ...

Two new hole‐transporting materials (HTMs), BX‐OMeTAD and BTX‐OMeTAD , based on xanthene and thioxanthene units, respectively, and bearing p ‐methoxydiphenylamine peripheral groups, are presented for their use in perovskite solar cells (PSCs). The novelty ...

Hybrid perovskite solar cells have been capturing an enormous research interest in the energy sector due to their extraordinary performances and ease of fabrication. However, low device lifetime, mainly due to material and device degradation upon water exp ...

Approaches to boost the efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells often address one singular problem in a specific device configuration. In this work, we utilize a poly(ionic liquid) (PIL) to introduce a multi-functional interlayer to improve the ...

Low-dimensional perovskites (LDP) are nowadays recognized as promising materials for the realization of highly performing photovoltaic cells. However, issues related to film morphology, composition, crystal quality and material homogeneity limit the device ...

Despite the impressive photovoltaic performances with power conversion efficiency beyond 22%, perovskite solar cells are poorly stable under operation, failing by far the market requirements. Various technological approaches have been proposed to overcome ...

Organic–inorganic lead halide perovskites have shown photovoltaic performances above 20% in a range of solar cell architectures while offering simple and low-cost processability. Despite the multiple ionic compositions that have been reported so far, the p ...

One of the challenges in the field of perovskite solar cells (PSC) is the development of inorganic hole-transporting-materials (HTM) suitable for solution-processed deposition, in order to have cheaper, more stable and scalable devices. Herein, we report t ...

With a power conversion efficiency (PCE) exceeding 22%, perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have thrilled photovoltaic research. However, the interface behavior is still not understood and is a hot topic of research: different processes occur over a hierarchy of ...

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have experienced an outstanding advance in power conversion efficiency (PCE) by optimizing the perovskite layer morphol., compn., interfaces, and charge collection efficiency. To enhance PCE, here we developed a new method i.e ...

In this work we systematically investigated the role of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) in hybrid perovskite solar cells (PSCs). By mixing rGO within the mesoporous TiO2 (m-TiO2) matrix, highly efficient solar cells with power conversion efficiency values up ...

Complex compositional engineering of mixed halides/mixed cations perovskites has recently fostered a rapid progress in perovskite solar cell technol. Here we demonstrate that when 10% of formamidinium (FA+) is simply added into methylammonium lead iodide ...

Hybrid perovskite solar cells have attracted tremendous interest in the photovoltaic community. Despite their high defect tolerance, reducing the trap density by material engineering and surface modification is still critical to further boost performance. ...

Here we identify structural inhomogeneity on a micrometer scale across the surface of a CH3NH3PbI3 perovskite single crystal. At the crystal edge a local distortion of the crystal lattice is responsible for a widening of the optical bandgap and faster phot ...
