The synthesis, characterization and photovoltaic performance of series of novel molecular hole transport materials (HTMs) based on bistricyclic aromatic enes (BAEs) are presented. The new derivatives were obtained following a simple and straightforward pro ...

Engineering two-/three-dimensional (2D/3D) perovskite solar cells is nowadays a popular strategy for efficient and stable devices. However, the exact function of the 2D/3D interface in controlling the long-term device behavior is still obscure. Here, we re ...

Hybrid perovskites are currently one of the most active fields of research owing to their enormous potential for photovoltaics. The performance of 3D hybrid organic-inorganic perovskite solar cells has increased at an incredible rate, reaching power conver ...

Compositional engineering of a mixed cation/mixed halide perovskite in the form of (FAP-bI(3))(0.85)(MAPbBr(3))(0.15) is one of the most effective strategies to obtain record-efficiency perovskite solar cells. However, the perovskite self-organization upon ...

The synthesis and characterization of a series of novel small-molecule holetransporting materials (HTMs) based on an anthra [1,2-b: 4,3-b': 5,6-b '': 8,7-b '''] tetrathiophene (ATT) core are reported. The new compounds follow an easy synthetic route and ha ...

Lead-free perovskites are attracting increasing interest as nontoxic materials for advanced optoelectronic applications. Here, we report on a family of silver/bismuth bromide double perovskites with lower dimensionality obtained by incorporating phenethyla ...

In this Letter we show that the mixed perovskite in the form of (FAPbI(3))(0.85)(MAPbBr(3))(0.15) in combination with CuNCS as p-type hole conductor leads to over 16% power conversion efficiency (PCE) under full sun illumination and yields a remarkable mon ...

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are promising alternatives toward clean energy because of their high-power conversion efficiency (PCE) and low materials and processing cost. However, their poor stability under operation still limits their practical applicati ...

Engineering 2D/3D perovskite interfaces is a common route to realizing efficient and stable perovskite solar cells. Whereas 2D perovskite’s main function in trap passivation has been identified and is confirmed here, little is known about its 2D/3D interfa ...

Through judicious molecular engineering, novel dopant-free star-shaped D-pi-A type hole transporting materials coded KR355, KR321, and KR353 were systematically designed, synthesized and characterized. KR321 has been revealed to form a particular face-on o ...

Combining halide perovskites with tailored dimensionality into two/three-dimensional (2D/3D) systems has revealed a powerful strategy to boost the performances of perovskite photovoltaics (PVs). Despite recent advances, a clear understanding of the intimat ...

Cation compositional engineering has revealed a powerful design tool to manipulate the perovskite structural and optoelectronic characteristics with a tremendous impact on device performances. Tuning the bandgap by cation and anion compositional mixing, fo ...

The role of halide substitution in a lead-free 2D hybrid perovskite is investigated on the BZA(2)SnX(4) (BZA = benzylammonium; X = Cl, Br and I) system, by reporting the synthesis and the structural analysis by means of single-crystal X-ray diffraction dat ...

To date, antisolvent treatment has become one of the most important means to fabricate high efficiency perovskite solar cells (PSCs); however, the few reported antisolvents have not been analyzed on a uniform platform, and there is hitherto no clear reason ...

Easily accessible tetra-5-hexylthiophene-, tetra-5-hexyl-2,2'-bisthiophene-substituted zinc phthalocyanines (ZnPcs) and tetra-tert-Bu ZnPc are employed as hole-transporting materials in mixed-ion perovskite [HC(NH2)2]0.85(CH3NH3)0.15Pb(I0.8 ...

Methylammonium lead iodide perovskite solar cells with improved performance and stability have been successfully prepared by using a non-stoichiometric PbI2 : CH3NH3I ratio in the precursor solution, and yield a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of above 1 ...

We use ultrafast transient absorption microscopy to map the effect of structural disorder on the photophysical properties within a micrometer-sized crystal of methylammonium lead iodide (CH3NH3PbI3) perovskite. We reveal a spatial inhomogeneity of the stru ...

A flexible, saddle-like, π-conjugated skeleton composed of four fused thiophene rings forming a cyclooctatetrathiophene (CoTh) with four triphenylamines (CoTh-TTPA) is presented as a hole-transporting material (HTM) for perovskite solar cells. The new HTM ...
