Atropo‐enantioselective C−H functionalization reactions are largely limited to the dynamic kinetic resolution of biaryl substrates through the introduction of steric bulk proximal to the axis of chirality. Reported herein is a highly atropo‐enantioselectiv ...

Chiral cyclopentadienyl (CpX) metal complexes are frequently used in asymmetric catalysis by virtue of their high reactivity and selectivity. Planar-chiral-only rhodium and iridium cyclopentadienyl complexes are particularly promising due to unrestricted c ...

A Cp*Rh(III)-catalyzed C-H/C-C bond activation sequence of cyclopropyl hydroxamates has been developed. The three-component process allows trapping of the intermediate rhodacycle with diazomalonates and an alcohol nucleophile to provide access to synthetic ...

Metal complexes coordinated by a single cyclopentadienyl (Cp) ligand are widely used, versatile catalysts, but their application to asymmetric reactions has been hindered by the difficulty of designing Cp substituents that effectively bias the coordination ...

The direct functionalization of non-activated C-H bonds, especially in an enantioselective manner, requires metal catalysts equipped with ligands with specifically designed properties. Examples for asymmetric C(sp(2))-H and C(sp(3))-H functionalizations us ...

In this issue of Chem, Dong and colleagues show that an engineered mixed carboxylate carbonate anhydride serves as an electrophilic trap in palladium/norbornene-catalyzed double functionalization of aryl iodides, enabling the introduction of the synthetica ...

Chiral cyclopentadienyl (Cp-x) group 9 metal complexes have become versatile catalysts for a variety of efficient enantioselective C-H functionalizations. Atropchiral binaphthyl-derived Cp-x ligands having tuning options at the 3,3'-positions present a rob ...

Rhodium(I)-catalyzed beta-carbon eliminations of tert-cyclobutanols followed by oxidative addition give benzorhoda(III)cyclopentenes. These key intermediates trigger intramolecular C-H arylations leading to beta-tetralones with quaternary stereogenic cente ...
