BACKGROUND: Diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging is essential for diagnosing ischemic stroke and identifying targets for emergency revascularization. Apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) maps derived from diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imag ...

This work explores a concept for motion detection in brain MR examinations using high channel-count RF coil arrays. It applies ultrashort (< 100 mu sec) free induction decay signals, making use of the knowledge that motion induces variations in these signa ...

Accurate characterization of in utero human brain maturation is critical as it involves complex and interconnected structural and functional processes that may influence health later in life. Magnetic resonance imaging is a powerful tool to investigate equ ...

Objective In brain volume assessment with MR imaging, it is of interest to know the effects of the pulse sequence and software used, to determine whether they provide equivalent data. The aim of this study was to compare cross-sectional volumes of subcorti ...

Purpose Abdominal MRI scans may require breath-holding to prevent image quality degradation, which can be challenging for patients, especially children. In this study, we evaluate whether FID navigators can be used to measure and correct for motion prospec ...

Background The relationship between osteoporosis and intervertebral disc (IVD) degeneration remains controversial. Novel quantitative Dixon (Q-Dixon) and GRAPPATINI T2 mapping techniques have shown potential for evaluating the biochemical components of the ...

ObjectiveThe application value of T2 mapping in evaluating endometrial carcinoma (EMC) features remains unclear. The aim of the study was to determine the quantitative T2 values in EMC using a novel accelerated T2 mapping, and evaluate them for detection, ...

Purpose Although several MRI methods have been explored to achievein vivomyelin quantification, imaging the whole brain in clinically acceptable times and sufficiently high resolution remains challenging. To address this problem, this work investigates the ...

T1-weighted structural MRI is widely used to measure brain morphometry (e.g., cortical thickness and subcortical volumes). Accelerated scans as fast as one minute or less are now available but it is unclear if they are adequate for quantitative morphometry ...

Free induction decay (FID) navigators were found to qualitatively detect rigid-body head movements, yet it is unknown to what extent they can provide quantitative motion estimates. Here, we acquired FID navigators at different sampling rates and simultaneo ...

Computer-aided clinical decision support tools for radiology often suffer from poor generalizability in multi-centric frameworks due to data heterogeneity. In particular, magnetic resonance images depend on a large number of acquisition protocol parameters ...

Background The application value of T(2)mapping in evaluating cervical cancer (CC) features remains unclear. Purpose To investigate the role of T(2)values in evaluating CC classification, grade, and lymphovascular space invasion (LVSI) in comparison to app ...

Objective The Fluid And White matter Suppression (FLAWS) MRI sequence provides multiple T1-weighted contrasts of the brain in a single acquisition. However, the FLAWS acquisition time is approximately 8 min with a standard GRAPPA 3 acceleration factor at 3 ...

Artificial intelligence (AI) has gained major attention with a rapid increase in the number of published articles, mostly recently. This review provides a general understanding of how AI can or will be useful to the musculoskeletal radiologist. After a bri ...

Objectives The aim of this study was to develop a new automated segmentation method of white matter (WM) and cortical multiple sclerosis (MS) lesions visible on magnetization-prepared 2 inversion-contrast rapid gradient echo (MP2RAGE) images acquired at 7 ...

Background: Precise and reliable brain morphometry analysis is critical for clinical and research purposes. The magnetization-prepared rapid gradient echo (MPRAGE), multi-echo MPRAGE (MEMPRAGE) and magnetization-prepared 2 rapid acquisition gradient echo ( ...

Purpose: To develop SPARCQ (Signal Profile Asymmetries for Rapid Compartment Quantification), a novel approach to quantify fat fraction (FF) using asymmetries in the phase-cycled balanced SSFP (bSSFP) profile. ...

Purpose To measure spatiotemporal B-0 field changes in real time using FID navigators (FIDnavs) and to demonstrate the efficacy of retrospectively correcting high-resolution T2*-weighted images using a novel FIDnav framework. Methods A forward model of the ...

Background: Early diagnosis and treatment of patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) are associated with better outcomes; however, diagnostic delays remain a major problem. Objective: Describe the prevalence, determinants and consequences of delayed diagnoses ...

Background and purpose. - It can be challenging to depict brain volume abnormalities in the pediatric population on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The aim of the study was to evaluate the inter-radiologist reliability in brain MRI interpretation, includ ...
