Dinuclear clathrochelate complexes with two, three, four, or five cyano groups in the ligand periphery were prepared following two distinct synthetic strategies: (a) zinc(II)- or cobalt(II)-templated polycondensation reactions of CN-functionalized arylboro ...

New ionic liquid crystals (including ionic metallomesogens) based on the pyrrolidinium core are presented. N-Methylpyrrolidine was quaternized with different mesogenic groups connected to a flexible, ω-bromosubstituted alkyl spacer. The length of the flexi ...

We present a detailed study on the charge ordering transition in a GdBaCo2O5.0 system by combining highresolution synchrotron powder/single-crystal diffraction with electron paramagnetic resonance experiments as a function of temperature. We found a second ...

Alkali-silica reaction (ASR) is one of the most important deterioration mechanisms in concrete leading to substantial damages of structures worldwide. Synchrotron-based micro-X-ray diffraction (micro-XRD) was employed to characterize the mineral phases for ...

Single crystal growth by chemical vapour transport has resulted samples with Fe1.35Ge stoichiometry. Structural study has shown that the large number of vacancies introduces an incommensuately modulated structure. The electrical resistivity is in the 200 m ...

The crystal structures of eight mono-methyl alkanes have been determined from single-crystal or high-resolution powder X-ray diffraction using synchrotron radiation. Mono-methyl alkanes can be found on the cuticles of insects and are believed to act as rec ...

Chirok is software for a post-refinement test of the absolute structure. The software allows a user to calculate a distribution of the measure of chirality based on intensity quotients and linked to the Flack parameter. The distribution is fitted by a set ...

The self-assembly properties of the proximal p-tert-butylcalix[4]dihydroquinone compound have been studied to investigate the role played by crystallization conditions in driving the formation of a previously reported cubic porous framework. In chloroform ...

6,6-dimethylbicyclo[3.1.1]heptan-2-one, (1R)-(+)-nopinone, is a liquid at room temperature. It solidifies below 260 K to form an orientationally disordered body-centred cubic phase (a = 7.644 Å at 255 K), which transforms to an ordered structure below 240 ...

The crystal structure of the neuropeptide proctolin (Arg-Tyr-Leu-Pro-Thr) is reported revealing the solid-state conformation of its molecules and their association in the crystal. ...

Protein powder diffraction is shown to be suitable for obtaining de novo solutions to the phase problem at low resolution via phasing methods such as the isomorphous replacement method. Two heavy-atom derivatives (a gadolinium derivative and a holmium deri ...

Three new bimetallic framework compounds, namely, (([Cd3(tn)4][Co(CN)6]2)·5H2O)∞ (1), ([Cd(tn)]3[Cr(CN)6]2)∞ (2), and ([Cu2(tn)2][Ru(CN)6]·4H2O)∞ (3), have been prepared in a very simple manner from the ligand 1,3-diaminopropane (tn), the hexacyanometalate ...

The title compound, C10H18, a decalin stereoisomer, crystallizes with Z' = 0.5 in the space group P21/n. The trans-decalin molecule is located on an inversion centre with both rings in a chair conformation, making for a quasi-flat overall shape. Despite th ...

It is possible to control the geometry and the composition of metallasupramolecular assemblies via the aspect ratio of their ligands. This point is demonstrated for a series of iron- and palladium-based coordination cages. Functionalized clathrochelate com ...

We present three different prepn. methods for CdSe colloidal nanoparticles that, when carried out into the Ostwald ripening regime, lead to the development of complex spectral patterns resulting from the overlap of several distinct components corresponding ...

The organic nonlinear optical material of 4-bromo-4'-nitrobenzylidene aniline (BNBA, C13H9BrN2O2), a new derivative of benzylideneaniline family, was synthesized and purified by repeated recrystallization. Single crystals of BNBA were grown in acetone solv ...

The crystal structure and the magnetic ordering pattern of the electrically insulating perovskite CeVO3 was investigated by high-resolution powder X-ray diffraction and single-crystal neutron diffraction. A structural phase transition from an orthorhombic ...

Powder synchrotron X-ray diffraction studies confirm that 7-oxabicyclo[2.2.1]heptane, (oxanorbornane), forms three solid phases on cooling and four on warming, as previously indicated by spectroscopic and DSC meas urements. The two highest temperature phas ...

Ditopic N-donor ligands with terminal 4-pyridyl groups are omnipresent in coordination-based self-assembly. The utilization of ligands with 3-pyridyl donor groups is significantly less common, because the intrinsic conformational flexibility of these ligan ...

The thermal decomposition of alane was investigated by application of synchrotron X-ray diffraction (SR-XRD) and thermal desorption spectroscopy (TDS). Two polymorphs were studied, α- and γ-AlH3. Activation energies, anisotropic volume expansions, and phas ...
